Well before Maw restrained Thor , he was beaten up by the entire Black Order and a Power Stone Thanos which means he was a lot weaker than usual.

Maw probably can't react or control Mjolnor as he couldn't even react to the spiked bricks which almost killed him Thor without pis should beat them

@marvelanddcfan24: He reacted perfectly fine to the spiked bricks. Some of them just went through the window/windshield of the car he used to protect himself. It’s a matter of poor choice of a shield and not “he couldn’t react to it”.

@kylebroflovski: trolololol before that Thor was beaten so badly he was barely able to stand up. He was beaten and exhausted.
