Plot and Video

In time for the release of Green Lantern the movie comes Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. This original DC animated movie follows the story of Arisia, as she is recruited into the Green Lantern Corps and must face he return threat of Krona. A former Guardian who is out to destroy OA and all of creation. Hal Jordan and Kilowog are given the assignment of teaching the young rookie what it means to be a Green Lantern. As she flies through her training, she discovers the origins of several Green Lanterns including: Abin Sur, Kilowog, Laira, Mogo and Hal Jordan. The story unfolds in an uneven time line explaining the origns and return of Krona, the fall of Sinestro, the budding romance between Arisia and Hal Jordan and the coming of the Sinestro and Red Lantern Corps. Plus, the greatest bounty hunter in the known sectors, Bolphunga the Unrelenting attacking the Green Lanterns at every turn.

This review was originally posted on my blog.Continuing on with the DCAU Spotlight feature is this review I did for the second Green Lantern animated movie, quite a different one in both tone and mood and content than the previous one, which was really good. I didn’t enjoy Emerald Knights as much as I wanted to, largely because the split narrative had bad pacing and some of the characters just weren’t as interesting as they could have been.
