You find yourself in an empty room with five other people. All five are from the same neighborhood of a mid-sized city. They all lead "normal" lives: none is a hermit, extremely phobic, and so on. Each works in the same office building and they are all exactly 45 years old, have two parents (all of the parents are exactly 71), and one sister (each sister is exactly 39).

Rank the following statements from most plausible to least plausible, and please explain. You can assume that either four of the individuals are lying, or that they're all telling the truth, but you're still tasked with "scaling" the likelihood of the claims.

A) Bob: I have never in my 45 years seen an airplane in the sky, not even a paper airplane.

B) Sam: I have never gone bowling, not even to watch.

C) Dave: I don't have a clue what Batman looks like.

D) Jake: I enjoy eating, but I've never had a sandwich in my entire life.

E) Monty: Though I've lived for 45 years, and though I enjoy television, I've never watched a game show, or even parts of one.

  1. Bob--- Aside from this being damn impossible in any sort of semi-populated area, the fact that he knows what a paper airplane is would suggest he's seen one.

  2. Dave---- There is no way to know what batman is and not know what he looks like, unless you are blind.

  3. Jake---- Incredibly unlikely, but not necessarily impossible. Maybe he's not allowed to eat bread due to an allergy or something.

  4. Monty--- If he never had interest and always changed the channel immediately whenever there was on, it's plausible. If anything though, he's probably just being hyperbolic or not remembering hard enough.

  5. Sam---- Again, if he just didn't have an interest then it's believable enough...

There is a lot of reason to think they are all blind.

If this is the case, then Jake is probably a blind bullshitter.
