Even though I loved Gladiator I could never bring myself to watch it a second time. I found it quite confronting when I watched it. It made me question myself, my manhood, my bravery, the things that really matter, gods, family and love.
I would probably watch it now, eat a calzone and fall asleep about half way through.

Braveheart was a delightful romp through the gloaming green hills of Scotland, picking flowers and laying by streams looking up at the future written in the clouds. And then at the end Braveheart was so giving and kind that he brought sausages for the English people to eat.
Just lovely 🌺

Braveheart (despite being historically inaccurate by a large margin), was more enjoyable IMO.

Both flicks are riddled with historical inaccuracies. Braveheart: Robert didn't betray William, kilts weren't a thing until hundreds of years later, William's father didn't die when he was a kid. The list goes on.
Gladiator: Commodus never actually killed his own father, and he didn't die in the arena. The term "Spaniard" didn't exist. Maximus was completely fabricated, the guy never existed, etc.

Gladiator.
Juba: Can they hear you?
Maximus: Who?
Juba: Your family. In the afterlife.
Maximus: Oh yes.
Juba: What do you say to them?
Maximus: To my son - I tell him I will see him again soon. To keep his heels down while riding his horse. To my wife... that is not your business.

Gladiator
Men in skirts and playing with little dolls.
Women becoming rulers of Rome (or was that just Joaquin Phoenix)
Gladiators hoping for one last golden shower party before they go to die.
Fight scenes that make you think that somebody left the strobe light on at the coliseum.
A heart warming movie for all the family

Even though I loved Gladiator I could never bring myself to watch it a second time. I found it quite confronting when I watched it. It made me question myself, my manhood, my bravery, the things that really matter, gods, family and love.
I would probably watch it now, eat a calzone and fall asleep about half way through.

Even though I loved Gladiator I could never bring myself to watch it a second time. I found it quite confronting when I watched it. It made me question myself, my manhood, my bravery, the things that really matter, gods, family and love.
I would probably watch it now, eat a calzone and fall asleep about half way through.

Braveheart was a delightful romp through the gloaming green hills of Scotland, picking flowers and laying by streams looking up at the future written in the clouds. And then at the end Braveheart was so giving and kind that he brought sausages for the English people to eat.
Just lovely 🌺

Both flicks are riddled with historical inaccuracies. Braveheart: Robert didn't betray William, kilts weren't a thing until hundreds of years later, William's father didn't die when he was a kid. The list goes on.
Gladiator: Commodus never actually killed his own father, and he didn't die in the arena. The term "Spaniard" didn't exist. Maximus was completely fabricated, the guy never existed, etc.
