The one question that remains unanswered for me throughout comics and movies is this: We see villains like Doc Oc and Winter Soldier who are "normal humans" with mechanical appendages, yet they get punched in the face by super-powered humans, how are these guys not knocked out one punch. Is it just plot necessary or is there an actual explanation.

Thanks, sorry if this is in the wrong area, its my second post

@mattbrewhaha: In WS Steve theorized that back in WW2 in the facility where he saved Bucky, the latter had already been experimented on with another version of the SSS which helped him survive the fall from the train in the later mission.

Dock Ock not dying from Spider-Man's punches can be explained by the neural link between his arms and his brain keeping him conscious and his face not getting turned to mush anyway can be explained by the film's PG rating.

Plot + Comic Writers not really caring for realism in general. Comic Book Bucky is a "peak human", a fanmade term that for a human with "Charles Atlas Superpowers". Essentially he has inhuman strength, speed, and durability due to "training". Think something along the lines of Dragon Ball Z Earthlings like Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha but without the ability to fly or shoot ki blasts. Bucky is still physically weaker than regular superhumans (apart from the mechanical arm) but compared to real life humans or even most normal (non-hero) humans, he could be considered superhuman by feats alone.

MCU Bucky at least has the excuse of being a supersoldier just like Cap.

IIRC in the comics Spider-Man holds back against Doc (and most of his rogue gallery) so he doesn't do more damage than necessary.

In the movie...IDK, Doc survives things that would kill anybody 10 times over without so much as a scratch. I guess you could blame the PG rating for that.

Dock Ock not dying from Spider-Man's punches can be explained by the neural link between his arms and his brain keeping him conscious and his face not getting turned to mush anyway can be explained by the film's PG rating.

Idk good question. Kinda puts Caps powers into question given how Bucky can take so much of his attacks. Same with Doc Ock. Tobey Spider-Man is wanked yet he can’t even put down a normal human with countless hits to the face

In real life physics, being saved by someone with flash's speed should be a lot more harmful than anything he saves you from.

I'm not expecting humans in comics to be "realistic". Just didn't know if there were explanations as to why characters like Spiderman who can lift a couple tons couldn't knock out a human with one punch
