Will this highly experienced Sith Lord, who has cheated death once and almost defeated his former master twice in combat, fair better than Darth Vader did after one month out of the proverbial workshop? Will he be able to defeat eight Jedi on his own? Let's find out!

Actually, if we assume Rebels Maul is operating on the same relative scale as his legends counterpart, he should win. The fact noob Vader survived against this team actually proves they have no chance against Maul. His agility will aid him a lot better than Vader's armor, he has weapons geared towards fighting groups, he can bully them with the Force, and perhaps most importantly, they can't attack him all at once, so given that they are all terrible, the only possible issue would be Maul's stamina, which is virtually limitless in a situation like this where the competition are mediocre.

Ma'kis'shaalas was Jedi Master known in the Order for his combat skill in the Golden Age of the Jedi, and was considered as one of the best Morgukai warriors:

It is for Ma'kis'shaalas's uncanny ability to make immediate and, invariably, correct - decisions and his skill in combat that the Nikto Jedi is best known.

-- Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds

Ma'kis'shaalas is Morgukai-one of the greatest, in fact, and one who committed an unspeakable crime against his former brotherhood.

-- Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds

Ma'kis'shaalas: A Morgukai warrior and Nikto Jedi Master, he survived Order 66. Master Ma'kis'shaalas was known as a fanatical adherent to the Jedi Order, and a fierce combatant. He agreed to meet Master Shadday Potkin on Kessel as part of a plot to ensnare Darth Vader. Vader cut Ma'kis'shaalas down in combat.

-- The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia

Morgukai in general are considered as "elite Jedi-killing warriors" and "peerless duelists":

The red-skinned Kajain'sa'Nikto subspecies famously produced one of the most elite warrior traditions in the galaxy: the "Jedi-killing" cult of the Morgukai. These peerless duelists are among the only non-Force users to repeatedly defeat both Jedi and Sith in melee combat. Fortunately for their opponents, the Morgukai's numbers remain few, but their battle tactics are closely guarded secrets.

-- Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia

Beyond their incredible abilities in combat, however, the philosophical teachings of the Morgukai cult are a mystery–they do not speak of their beliefs to outsiders, even under threat of death.

Ma'kis'shaalas solos clearly.

Those types of accolades are typically given out to randoms, so when they're inevitably defeated by the main character, it's made out to be some impressive showing. Not this crap again.

By "almost defeat" you mean in a test where Sidious was wielding a mere training saber, not using his Force reserves. Once Maul passes the test, Sidious easily disarms him and pwns him with TK.

I've already debunked in another thread which you've yet to respond to, kek.

@in-sidiousvader: @space_hitler: Anyway, if I recall correctly, Maul once used the lower blade of his saberstaff to block an attack from behind by Obi-Wan, all the while keeping his eyes on Qui-Gon. Something Vader clearly lacked when Jastus Farr used a similar approach. It's all a matter of skill and experience.

Also, Vader wasn't exactly defeated. He pretended to surrender in the same way Megatron did in the Transformers movie. Sith are all about deception.

Yeah Maul puts up a great fight, but Vader only survived that engagement because of his Lightsaber resistant Armor and even then he was defeated without the help of the 501st

Those types of accolades are typically given out to randoms, so when they're inevitably defeated by the main character, it's made out to be some impressive showing. Bondara comes to mind as a perfect example, as does Bruu Jun-Fan.

Yeah Maul puts up a great fight, but Vader only survived that engagement because of his Lightsaber resistant Armor and even then he was defeated without the help of the 501st

Rebels Maul probably dies. Vader only took them a month after Mustafar though- he was so far away from his prime it isn't funny.

Abit of an exaggeration don'tcha think? In the grand scheme of things, the characters who do have such accolades is really small.

  • Maul will be using the Darksaber while in conjunction with his saberstaff, giving him more lethality.

Will this highly experienced Sith Lord, who has cheated death once and almost defeated his former master twice in combat, fair better than Darth Vader did after one month out of the proverbial workshop? Will he be able to defeat eight Jedi on his own? Let's find out!

DarthWill3 marked this as the best answer

@oklol: I'm joking. I use use good Makis here as an excellent example of how a character can a long line of statement about "peerless skill" etc etc. But can still only amount to-

No Caption Provided

I'm at the point now where the phrase "a master" has basically lost all meaning to me since basically every character has it.

Anyway. Maul probably doesn't win this.

@greysentinel365: Any time I see "peerless" or "unparalleled," I immediately assume that character is mediocre.

Abit of an exaggeration don'tcha think? In the grand scheme of things, the characters who do have such accolades is really small.
