Clark gets knocked around for the first few minutes, then eventually realizes that it really doesn't have to happen.

I mean the main issue for him in the Smallville fight was that his opponents were faster than he expected and just about as fast as he was and it was more than one of them, so while he tried focusing on 1, there was another that had the opportunity to stop him. He has neither of those issues here. Just like he eventually used his flight and power to his advantage then, he'd do the same here. He's just in more control because he doesn't have to worry about his opponent bringing right back to the town every time he tries to leave.

He only struggled with the kryptonians because there were two of them, he can focus on the Hulk easy here.
