The Green Lantern Corps movie arrives in 2020.

So, now, it's time to think who should play the main characters of the universe's protectors. NOTE: Not all these characters are confirmed for the movie.

James Marsden as Hal Jordan

James Marsden has had a superhero role before, as Cyclops in the first three X-Men movies. He's had a ton of roles, and can clearly be both dramatic and funny, which is exactly what Hal Jordan is. Also, it helps that Hal Jordan is going to be slightly older in this movie.

Idris Elba as John Stewart

Like Jordan, John Stewart will likely be older in Green Lantern Corps, and Idris Elba would be my number-one choice to play him.

Josh Peck as Kyle Rayner

Yes, I just cast Josh from Drake and Josh as a Green Lantern. But seriously, the guy has proven himself as an actor outside of Nickelodeon. In addition, he looks like the character and fits within the dynamic of the nerd-punk that Kyle Rayner is in the comics.

Jensen Ackles as Guy Gardner

Some would rather he play Hal Jordan, but Ackles might do better as Gardner, as he and the character fir the "bad boy" stereotype that people love. Also, he's the right size and age range to play Gardner.

Sean Bean as Alan Scott

Now, let me first say that, in the comics, Alan Scott is a Green Lantern, but not a member of the Corps. He was the Green Lantern of Earth-2 before being factored into the main continuity who used similar technology to be a Green Lantern. In The New 52, Alan was an avatar of "The Green", which connected all plant life on earth.

However, there's no reason not to switch things up for the movies, and Sean Bean would be a good actor to play Scott.

Firass Dirani as Simon Baz

My requirements for this character were: muscular Middle-Eastern guy. Success!

Amerie Hammer could also be a perfect lantern.

The guy can act and he is good looking, with a cool voice and the features of a lantern. He is also young which means he can carry the role much longer than James.

Do we need Guy Gardner?

Well, Armie is younger and the director doesn't want that.

I think Jensen would do better as Hal than as Guy. Other than that, I like the other castings.

Michael Cera as Kyle Rayner

The Green Lantern Corps movie IIRC, is going to be about John Stewart and Hal Jordan. Whom in this case, I'd prefer Alex O'Loughlin and Mahershala Ali as the two respective characters.

who will play jessica cruz (even if she wont be in the movie who would make a good cruz? and don't say penelope cruz lol)

Hill would make a good Kyle Rayner though...

Zero faith in this film being anything other than mediocre no matter who they cast. WB hasn’t proved they can make these films work.
