I don't know when it started but sometime in the last few months the search bar on this site has become SIGNIFICANTLY less useful. It's nearly impossible to search for a specific issue of a comic anymore. Typing in anything gives you the most generic and vague results possible, often having absolutely nothing to do with what I'm searching for. This site used to have one of the most precise and help search engines and now it's completely useless.

I've waited long enough for the staff to fix it, so I've made an account just to inquire about it.

Please tell me this is a bug and not a "feature". Thanks.

@rizeveedramon: we have a new search engine as of three weeks ago today, it is being worked on still, no ETA's for anything being fixed or improved relevancy yet.

@pikahyper: Well I'm glad it's being worked on, but why not just go back to the old one? There's nothing shameful about cutting your losses. You don't want to be the next DeviantART.

@rizeveedramon: I doubt they can go back, search is integrated too much.

@pikahyper: Well thanks for the update anyway. Kinda sucks that I won't be able to use my favorite comic site for the forseeable future. Hope I can find somewhere else.

@rizeveedramon: for regular users it's not that bad really you just have to tweak how you search, there are three main things wrong and one of them has only been noticed by two people including myself, the three things are that you can't search issues really, metadata is missing for most search results and the engine can't handle anything other then English. The first two can be worked around by going to volume pages or using the filtering system on the individual wiki type pages i.e. Wiki>Volumes, Wiki>Characters, Wiki>Teams, etc.. If it was unusable like you say we wiki editors wouldn't be able to do anything and we are still chugging along, slower then usual but it's still usable.

@pikahyper: I'm glad you can still find use for the site, but for the chronology work that I do with comics, that decrease in productivity is simply unacceptable. It's difficult to even find a volume anymore, let alone an issue. Until the search engine is restored COMPLETELY to its original functionality, I can't support this site and I can't support its staff.

I respect the site's decisions but I'm not gonna lie down and accept lesser quality when I know the staff are capable of better things. I genuinely hope you guys succeed in the future. Goodbye and good luck.
