Jeepers Creepers, The Creeper!

No Caption Provided

Summary and abilities

The Creeper rises from its hibernation every 23 years to feed. The Creeper, though not as popular as many slashers/killers in their respective roles, has clearly cemented himself as a force to be reckoned with.At least due to what he has displayed on screen. His abilities make him a larger and more dangerous threat than most other horror villains could hope to be. In the first film, he was portrayed as a quick witted and intelligent species while in the 2nd, they made him more animalistic and rather clueless. He seemed to lack the intelligence he once displayed in the 1st film, but still brutal and efficient in his killing style however.

This creature is comprised of tremendous strength and respectable speed in regards to a horror film monster. He can fly at speeds, though they're not estimated exactly, nearly faster than the eye can see. I'd even wager faster than a superhuman eye can see if he chose to.

He consumes parts of the human anatomy in order to replace his either old or injured body parts and recreate new limbs. You will see this in a few clips below.

Few Strength Points

No Caption Provided

Putting holes in the top of vehicles no matter the size seems to be a favorite of his too!

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided

Below are a few more examples of what he can do.

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided

In this clip, we see him effortlessly break through the door of an interrogation room. Then promptly jump out of window and escape.

The Strength showings that even Grifter will have issue with

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided

We see here that the Creeper is shot with the Harpoon and plays tug of war for a bit before forcing the truck alongside the bus.

Why this is impressive:

  • He physically, and from a distance, and while impaled by a steel weapon, he forces the 2 vehicles (one of which is actively being operated by a driver trying to evade the assault -- essentially the Creeper is not only manhandling a bus and a pickup truck, he is going against and winning at that, against a truck attempting to pull away during all of this) side by side with sheer power.

Then a second harpoon shot is fired when a diving Creeper endures a spear head on, and still fights through it while pulling on the steel cable. He then imprints its detail into the side of the bus as he tries to escape.

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided

This is all while its still attached to the truck. Then he knocks the School bus over. By smashing the truck into it. All before sending said truck toppling down the street due to the force he himself displayed. Following that, we see the cable cutting/grinding through the bus entirely.

Again, this is all due to the immense pressure and strength of the Creeper from a good distance away.

As if that wasn't enough, as he keeps his flight in the opposite direction, the cable reaches its end and his sheer strength rips the machine completely from the vehicle. Also sending it spiraling down the road.

On to...

Speed/Agility

Well he was able to dodge a shotgun blast while grounded. He walks forward and evades a shotgun blast. Shotguns are made to hit and envelop a large area. They are not easy to dodge. Superhuman or not.

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided

A spread test from a shotgun reveals that it encompasses a rather sized area when fired from within 50 ft.

As you see - It ranges fine and is still devastating from 10 feet to 50 feet. How far would you say Creeper is standing in the clip I shared above? Maybe a little over 50 feet, and that gun seemed even powerful than the one seen in the youtube video seeing what it did to the structure behind him.

He was able easily evade and reach the top of the 2 story house before they can even react. They had to hear his movement on the roof before realizing where he was.

This is also one of my favorite scenes due to his toying with them. You see him smile as he tosses the lady aside. Their fear pleases him.

Another speed/reaction showing...

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • Creeper takes off and flies into the night sky and disappears in a second or two in front of the targets.

His flight, which will be utilized here, is deceptively fast and unexpected. I doubt Daken would even be able to tell the Creeper has wings initially. Causing another hurdle for Daken to deal with when just the speed and strength is an issue already.

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • Here, Creeper reacts to, and deflects a gunshot at close range with his axe. A close range bullet timing feat.

I have referenced this multiple times now but it needs to be understood and given the respect it deserves. Everything the Creeper does, he seemingly does with little, if any effort. He is the ultimate predator.

There are other shows of strength and speed but i will save those for the rest of the CaV. This consisting of some of one of my favorite characters, I wanted to put more effort into the intro than I usually do.

Accuracy/Marksmanship

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided

Here, we see pin point accuracy in a group of fleeing victims and the lethal edges of his hand crafted weaponry. Are these atheletic teens on Daken's level? No, not at all, but that isn't the purpose of this feat.

He predicts where the runner will be and where to throw his dagger. Its so sharp and well placed - it not only goes through the guy's rm but digs into the tree as well.

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • Creeper launches a star at the traveling bus from deep in a wheatfield. It punctures the back wheel and almost completely gets lost in the rubber it's thrown with such velocity.

  • We also see it's navigation as it swerves and turns upward to hit its mark.

>

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • Launches a spear in mid air. The spear breaks through te windshield easily and drives into the seats, pinning a victim there.

>

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • Here, Creeper casually tosses a dagger into the barrel of a gun. What's maybe even more impressive is that upon impact, the blast does absolutely nothing to the handcrafted star projectile; showing Creeper's true skill in creating formidable weapons.

Creeper Weaponry and Tools

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3Gallery image 4
  • The Creeper Wagon

  • Creeper Star

  • Creeper Battle Axe

  • Creeper Daggers

How many of these weapons the Creeper has isn't really touched on, but its safe to assume since he spends his life hunting and feeding as an intelligent predator; he has a large assortment of each. The Battle axe however, I could keep at 1.

All of these weapons have shown how fatal they are when wielded by the Creeper.

Initial Considerations

So far, I'm impressed by what I've researched in regards to Daken and his speed along with his pheromones should offer quite the challenge for Creeper.

However, I'm fully confident that with Creeper's flight speed and ability to remain in the air during the fight, along with his access to some pretty nifty weaponry, can more than grant him a slight edge.

I will get into much more later but I look forward to learning more about Daken. Should be pretty cool.

Bio

The child if Itsu and Wolverine, Daken Akihiro was a product of tragedy. Abandoned by his father and suffering the loss of a mother, Daken was taken in by Remulus who taught him many skills. Eventually, Daken would make his way to America where he'd come face to face with the man he hated most: his own father. The two had a rivalry for many years, with Daken dawning the name Dark Wolverine and joining the Dark Avengers, wrecking havoc in Mandripoor and even taking on the Avengers multiple times. Eventually, in a fit of rage, Logan killed his son. Though, per comic tradition, deaths are never a certain thing and Daken was revived as a Horseman of the Apocalypse. Eventually breaking free of the Death Seed's hold, Daken returned to normal and is now pulling many strings to put himself in the lap of luxury. He doesn't really care about anything but himself and having a good time.

Strength

Since this is an opener, I won't pull a scan dump. Firstly, I'd like to establish Daken's placement in the hierarchy compared to some other members of the Wolverine family. Firstly, Wolverine himself. Logan muses that he and his son are "equal forces of destruction" suggesting the two are on-par strength-wise:

Wolverine Origins #48
Wolverine Origins #48

While this is just Logan's opinion and he should logically be stronger, Daken is still comparable given the plethora of times they've fought and stalemated each other(like Wolverine Origins #13 and Dark Wolverine #86). Next, he's stronger than his little sister X-23. In their first fight, while Laura did hang quite well and got several hits in, Daken was obviously more successful. He landed more hits on her and Laura's eyes actually teared up from the pain of his attacks:

X-23 #8X-23 #8
X-23 #8

And Daken, who was missing an arm and was physically, psychologically and emotionally unstable(to the point where his Healing Factor was cancelling itself out) restrained Laura, despite the fact that he only had one arm:

Wolverines #11Wolverines #11
Wolverines #11

I'd say that places Daken above his little sister. And while most of the fight was off-panel, Daken made quick work of Sabertooth:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2
Death of Wolverine: Logan's Legacy #1

Due to all of this, I think it's safe to say Daken is in the superhuman strength class and Creeper's strength wouldn't be much of a problem.

His strength is also boosted by the fact that he has some pretty sharp claws. Here's a few noteworthy feats:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3
  • Scan 1: He cuts up Skaar(Incredible Hulk #603)

  • Scan 2: He pierces Iron Patriot's armour, which was meant to rival Iron Man's own(Dark Wolverine #82)

  • Scan 3: He easily pierces Marcus' skin; Marcus was capable of no-selling heavy gunfire so he's pretty resistant to piercing attacks(Daken: Dark Wolverine #19)

Speed and Skill

I'm putting these two in the same category given how interconnected they are. Daken, using a technique that combines speed and skill, can strike enemies without them noticing, from different directions.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2
Wolverine Origins #25

He can use this technique so well that people who are as fast as him still can't react in time. Case in point, he defeated Wolverine at one point with this skill:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2
Wolverine Origins #13

Daken's also quite fond of dancing around his enemies, all the while wearing down his opposition with well-placed strikes:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3Gallery image 4
  • Scan 1: Dances around attacks from a symbiotic Jimmy Hudson(X-Men Blue #30)

  • Scan 2: Dances around Ben Grimm(Dark Wolverine #76), which is noteworthy given Thing is capable of evading attacks that move at near sonic speeds

  • Scans 3 and 4: Dances around Punisher, dodging all his shots(Dark Reign: The List: Punisher)

Likewise, someone like the Creeper would also get danced around and most of his attacks would be dodged and evaded given Daken boasts a clear speed advantage. For some general speed feats, Spider-Man calls him as fast as Wolverine:

The Amazing Spider-Man #597The Amazing Spider-Man #597
The Amazing Spider-Man #597

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

I'd say speed and skill should be edges Daken has here in spades.

Durability/Healing Factor

Again, I won't go into too much detail given this is my opening post, but it should be made pretty clear that Creeper can't put Akihiro down. Bullets don't do much to him, and he's walked away from explosions like a pro(below being one example):

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3
Daken: Dark Wolverine #9

I think one of the best examples of Daken's persistance is his fight against Franken-Castle, a reanimated Punisher.

Daken falls into one of the Punisher's traps. He gets impaled dozens of times, endures another explosion and he heals:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2
FrankenCastle #19

After the impalement and explosions Daken healed from earlier, he gets smashed by a car:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2
FrankenCastle #19

FrankenCastle and Daken then proceed to fight, and Daken endures a beating:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3
FrankenCastle #19

Then, even after that, Daken gets electrecuted and hit by a train:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3
FrankenCastle #19

Daken heals from that from all of that, fairly quickly:

FrankenCastle #19FrankenCastle #19
FrankenCastle #19

Basically, in little time he recomposes from something that would kill almost anyone else ten times over. While I don't doubt Creeper can hurt Daken, assuming he tags him, he doesn't have the means to put him down.

Conclusion

I'm fully confident that with Creeper's flight speed and ability to remain in the air during the fight, along with his access to some pretty nifty weaponry, can more than grant him a slight edge.

I find this doubtful given Daken has fought flying characters before and has managed to tag them. He's also pretty agile so he should be capable of leaping or jumping at Creeper and knocking him down. Daken actually has experience with knocking down people much larger than himself, and stronger too. He's knocked down Fang, an extradimensional being with reality warping powers and also flight capabilities:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2
Wolverines #8

He's also managed to bring down a Frost Giant without much difficulty, while missing an arm:

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3
The Wolverines #9

As for his weaponry, Daken should dodge most of those attacks and the strikes he doesn't evade he'll just heal from. Now why Daken wins:

  • He's faster

  • He can slice and dice Creeper with his Skaar-cutting, bullet-proof skin piercing claws

  • Most of Creeper's attempts to take Daken down would be shrugged off

He really has no way of putting the Dark Wolverine down, whereas Akihiro was plenty of ways to wear down Creeper before delivering the finishing blow. It should be an interesting fight to say the least, but Daken takes this. And this is without including some of his mutant powers(I'll get into that as the debate progresses).

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

--------

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • The force and precision of Creeper's throw impales the skull of a man.

>

>

>

Here, we see pin point accuracy in a group of fleeing victims and the lethal edges of his hand crafted weaponry. Are these atheletic teens on Daken's level? No, not at all, but that isn't the purpose of this feat.

He predicts where the runner will be and where to throw his dagger. Its so sharp and well placed - it not only goes through the guy's rm but digs into the tree as well.

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

A spread test from a shotgun reveals that it encompasses a rather sized area when fired from within 50 ft.

--------

No Caption ProvidedNo Caption Provided
  • The force and precision of Creeper's throw impales the skull of a man.

>

>

>

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

  • The force and precision of Creeper's throw impales the skull of a man.

  • Creeper launches a star at the traveling bus from deep in a wheatfield. It punctures the back wheel and almost completely gets lost in the rubber it's thrown with such velocity.

  • We also see it's navigation as it swerves and turns upward to hit its mark.

His flight, which will be utilized here, is deceptively fast and unexpected. I doubt Daken would even be able to tell the Creeper has wings initially. Causing another hurdle for Daken to deal with when just the speed and strength is an issue already.

Here, we see pin point accuracy in a group of fleeing victims and the lethal edges of his hand crafted weaponry. Are these atheletic teens on Daken's level? No, not at all, but that isn't the purpose of this feat.

He predicts where the runner will be and where to throw his dagger. Its so sharp and well placed - it not only goes through the guy's rm but digs into the tree as well.

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

And he's a pretty casual bullet-timer. Click links --> [1][2][3]

FrankenCastle #19

After the impalement and explosions Daken healed from earlier, he gets smashed by a car:
