Oh sweet! The new Star Trek show will be on Netflix in Canada! All of a sudden I care about that show because I can watch. Man I love Netflix though. They just put up Force Awakens on there. Couldn't believe how quick that was.
Ps: Don't forget about US Agent. You're supposed to say it like USA-gent. That way you get the full affect of the word play.

Are you in Canada? I was just reading on Gamespot that in Canada it will actually be on CraveTV not Netflix. What a bummer. Guess I'll have to settle for re-watching ST Voyager on Netflix.

Yeah, I was super stoked when Force Awakened showed up unannounced on my Netflix. Same thing happened for Age of Ultron, the Martian and few other big hits. But I'm REALLY hoping the same thing happens again with Civil War.
I've never been able to properly research this but from my limited exposure to USA Netflix it seems like Canadian Netflix is a bit better for movies (specifically new releases) while USA Netflix is better for TV Shows. Does that sound true at all?
It's funny about the Star Trek show because it really shows how much I actually care about Star Trek as a brand. When I thought it was only on this CBS Subscription thing I didn't lose any sleep about missing it, then when I thought it was coming to Netflix I got really excited, then when I found out it was not I stopped caring and don't really feel disappointing at all. I guess it's just not my preferred space fiction.

Hurray! I was right about something :) Movie and TV rights are such a funny thing. It's also funny to watch all the cable networks and entertainment groups work their way towards subscription services. I don't blame them for trying something like this to really get people subscribed. We'll just have to wait and see if it pays off for them.

Yeah, I can see it that way. But I can also see it from the networks angle. They're add revenue is probably shrinking and they see everyone and their grandmother starting a subscription service with the prospect of making $10 a month from people who simply forget they're signed up and don't think to cancel. I'm sure there's a graph in some executives office detailing exactly how many people are paying for Netflix but not actually using it. It's a modern day gold rush IMO. And I could be wrong but I don't think CBS would necessarily make much money by handing their show over to Netflix to distribute.

I've never been able to properly research this but from my limited exposure to USA Netflix it seems like Canadian Netflix is a bit better for movies (specifically new releases) while USA Netflix is better for TV Shows. Does that sound true at all?

We all gotta be right sometimes ;) Tell me about it. Their all just trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of people with these subscriptions, when they should be making deals with Netflix and Hulu so everyone can see their show and movies.
I've never thought of it that way. I'm just hoping for someone coming up with a great idea that makes the networks and fans happy.

You are exactly right about the difference between US and Canadian Netflixs. The Force Awakened is nowhere to be seen and the Martian is only on DVD/Blu-Ray just like a lot of other movies that I wanna stream, but there's no limit of new shows.

Hurray! I was right about something :) Movie and TV rights are such a funny thing. It's also funny to watch all the cable networks and entertainment groups work their way towards subscription services. I don't blame them for trying something like this to really get people subscribed. We'll just have to wait and see if it pays off for them.

Hurray! I was right about something :) Movie and TV rights are such a funny thing. It's also funny to watch all the cable networks and entertainment groups work their way towards subscription services. I don't blame them for trying something like this to really get people subscribed. We'll just have to wait and see if it pays off for them.
We all gotta be right sometimes ;) Tell me about it. Their all just trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of people with these subscriptions, when they should be making deals with Netflix and Hulu so everyone can see their show and movies.

You are exactly right about the difference between US and Canadian Netflixs. The Force Awakened is nowhere to be seen and the Martian is only on DVD/Blu-Ray just like a lot of other movies that I wanna stream, but there's no limit of new shows.
I'm not the biggest Star Trek fan, but I was interested in the new show until I heard it was only gonna be on CBS Subscription.

Are you in Canada? I was just reading on Gamespot that in Canada it will actually be on CraveTV not Netflix. What a bummer. Guess I'll have to settle for re-watching ST Voyager on Netflix.

Yeah, sorry, my neighbor to the north, you are also out of luck in getting Star Trek on Netflix. It is everywhere BUT U.S. and Canada
We can all pout together
EDIT - Unless there was a change after the first announcement and Canada is getting it now ...? Crossing my fingers for you guys.

No, i'm not Canadian, but I was hoping to see the new Star Trek show and Force Awakens on Netflix.

I've never thought of it that way. I'm just hoping for someone coming up with a great idea that makes the networks and fans happy.

0 I am trying to use an already existing sqLite database in my android app. I have verified that it is loaded into the project in the assets folder and I can browse it in DB browser when I open it directly from the project. This is the schema for the table I am trying to query CREATE TABLE "ACTIVITY_LIST_TBL" ( `_ID` INTEGER NOT NULL, `ACT_NAME` VARCHAR NOT NULL, `ACT_CODE` VARCHAR, `IS_ACTIVE` INTEGER DEFAULT -1, PRIMARY KEY(`_ID`) ) Below is the activity that creates the sqlite helper and then on a button click I execute a query on the ACTIVITY_LIST_TBL.
