THE WILD STORM #2 Jim Lee Variant
(W) Warren Ellis (A) Jon Davis-Hunt (CA) Jim Lee, Scott Williams
All Angela Spica did was save someone's life. And now hers is over. The rogue engineer lies bleeding in a place she hopes nobody will find - but she's wrong. The people embedded in the secret power structures of the world are tracking her. Skywatch. Halo. International Operations. A covert operative called Grifter. If only she hadn't unknowingly foiled an assassination planned by her boss. If only her boss wasn't the one person more interested in the Engineer's transhuman implants than in her life. It's all going very wrong, very quickly. There's going to be more blood.

This is already looking to be DC's series of the year. I even forgot I was reading something from the company because it feels so Image.

Exactly. The Authority pretty much set the tone for modern comics. If it wasn't for that book there probably wouldn't be an Ultimate Marvel line. DV8 was way ahead of its time.

Oh man, DV8. That was Secret Six before there was Secret Six. They need to come back and they fit current times better than Gen13.

I love me some Grifter, though a part of me wishes his series was still going in the mainstream DCU. I enjoyed seeing Grifter, Team 7, and Stormwatch, as well as Midnighter all getting retrofitted into the New52 DC.
This looks good though. Lee's cover isn't note for note like the image of JB. I hate Beiber as much as any man, but Cole has more of his stomach showing and has pants on. Since when do people hate on artists for using reference pics? Granted Lee shouldn't use something as mainstream as that [I always go back a few decades at least] for reference, you guys are making mountains out of ant hills. A better question would be why does it have such a bland background? Let Brett Booth come back to Wildstorm and do a cover or two for this.

Exactly. The Authority pretty much set the tone for modern comics. If it wasn't for that book there probably wouldn't be an Ultimate Marvel line. DV8 was way ahead of its time.

Did you read The Wild Storm #1 this week? If not, go buy the comic as soon as you can. Check out the variant covers for the second issue by Jim Lee and Afu Richardson and be amazed.

You haven't been reading much Wildstorm then because Ellis's work began in the 90s.

Did you read The Wild Storm #1 this week? If not, go buy the comic as soon as you can. Check out the variant covers for the second issue by Jim Lee and Afu Richardson and be amazed.

Exactly. The Authority pretty much set the tone for modern comics. If it wasn't for that book there probably wouldn't be an Ultimate Marvel line. DV8 was way ahead of its time.

Did you read The Wild Storm #1 this week? If not, go buy the comic as soon as you can. Check out the variant covers for the second issue by Jim Lee and Afu Richardson and be amazed.

Granted Lee shouldn't use something as mainstream as that [I always go back a few decades at least] for reference, you guys are making mountains out of ant hills. A better question would be why does it have such a bland background? Let Brett Booth come back to Wildstorm and do a cover or two for this.
Also, it's not like heDC are hiding it at all:
I wished that Jim Lee NEVER sold Wildstorm to DC Comics in the first place.

Did you read The Wild Storm #1 this week? If not, go buy the comic as soon as you can. Check out the variant covers for the second issue by Jim Lee and Afu Richardson and be amazed.

Also, it's not like heDC are hiding it at all:
I wished that Jim Lee NEVER sold Wildstorm to DC Comics in the first place.
