If one of the members of the Justice League went back in time and saved Superman's planet, would he still have come to Earth? I wish someone would do some sort of what if story about that?

God bless, Jason Scott Irelan

potentially Superman would come to earth if it was through a last minute saving through some crazy magic or reality warping. However Superman would probably be tracked back to earth and brought back.

I just remembered something. Pre-Crisis, Maggin established that Superman was supposed to be the guy to replace the Guardians of the Universe before Krypton blew up and they lost their chance to mentor him. So, at least on that continuity, he was always meant for bigger things than just Krypton.

the 'World's Finest' team would be Batman and Lex Luthor. Two of the greatest heroes Earth has ever known, and yet both are only human. Either that or Lex Luthor would find an inner hatred for another hero on the League instead, maybe Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (green envy)

I would like to imagine that Krypton would finally begin traveling to other planets, eventually coming in contact with Earth and making peaceful negotiations with them. Due to the presence of super-powered Kryptonians on Earth, there would no longer be a need for many of the superheroes we know.

Earth is a crime-less utopia. Bruce Wayne's parents would never die and he wouldn't become the Batman, and so on.

Well if he did come to Earth to live under the circumstances that his planet never exploded, it'd be a lot harder for villains to get the drop on him because his planet would never have turned into radio active rocks; and Batman wouldn't have a chance. Green Lantern Hal Jordan would never have had the chance to analyze kryptonite with his ring in order to deal with Kryptonian villains and therefore produce the stuff.

Take care and God bless

The next issue of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps mentions some Superman vs. Hal Jordan story at the end, and I know Hal Jordan is the only Green Lantern who analyzed kryptonite with his ring and can therefore defeat Superman if there's a need. However, with this story started with Green Lanterns where Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz were somehow forced back ten billion years ago and seeing Earth and other Green Lanterns including a kryptonian with a Green Lantern ring. In order for Earth to have existed 10 billion years ago would require more than four dimensions because you'd have to consider that the Lord may have created other worlds as in parallel universes, and that's string theory dimensions, and God isn't helping people go to anyone they can read about or imagine. Fifth one says other worlds. Sixth one says plane of other worlds with same start conditions. Seventh one says plane of other worlds with different start conditions, while is one I have thought about because there may be one where Eve resisted the temptation to eat the forbidden fruit. Google is a good way to find out about other theoretical dimensions. Ten billion years ago is long before Krypton exploded in that parallel world; but if that happens, it's a shame for a Green Lantern fan to admit; but Hal Jordan wouldn't stand a chance.

Take care and God bless

@irelan:

Well. That story was kinda made. Twice!

In Superman The Last Son of Earth. Clark Kent which parents were Jonathan and Martha Kent. Was inadvertently sent to Krypton. There he became a kryptonian to the best of Jor-El ability. Until he eventually found a Green Lantern ring.

Then there was another story when the League was captured, and placed in this mental alternate realities of their lives. In that occasion, Kal-El was the Green Lantern assigned to protect the sector to which Krypton belonged to.

So if Krypton didn't blew up, there would be a good chance Kal-El might have become a Green Lantern. Even if he didn't, in the end the one's that would suffer, would be the humans on Earth.

Superman in some ways, he's a crucial part of the cogs that keep the machine working. Without him, either Lex would destroy the world or some threat that required Superman power, would not have Superman to fight it. Leaving the Earth defenseless.

Honestly. One thing that I never understood about Jor-El, is how he knows (or suspects) the effects of a G Class star will have on kryptonian physiology. But he never uses that knowledge. I mean... If we primitive humans can come up with a red solar emitter, then how hard would it be for the kryptonians to build themselves a solar energy converter suit. So they could have powers on Krypton. Maybe even using those powers to fly through the stars.

It would've been cool, if a story was made where Kal-El created this group of people that used special suits. Those suits giving them powers even under a red sun.

the 'World's Finest' team would be Batman and Lex Luthor.

@irelan:

Green Lantern Hal Jordan would never have had the chance to analyze kryptonite with his ring in order to deal with Kryptonian villains and therefore produce the stuff.

@irelan:

My idea - Krypton doesn't blow up, Kal-El and family live there - Earth without Superman? How would the lives of the Kents, Luthor, Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Peter Ross et al have been different?
