In essence, Chakra is the molding of the physical energy in one's body and the spiritual energy in one's mind. In the Shinobi World, Chakra is essential for ninjas in order to use their techniques. Some common techniques include molding chakra in one's feet to run on water or walk up buildings and trees. By molding chakra in other ways, techniques of a much greater scale can be produced. One's chakra is equivalent to one's life force, meaning that if a shinobi is drained of all their chakra, they die. No live shinobi has infinite amounts of chakra, but the amount of chakra varies from person to person. The amount of chakra one has is usually determined by genetics. Clans within the Shinobi World with large amounts of chakra include the Uchiha clan, the Senju clan, and the Uzumaki clan.

Ninjutsu:

Literally meaning "Ninja Techniques", Ninjutsu is a general term referring to most of the techniques used by ninja. Ninjutsu can be created by molding one's chakra into physical form, most commonly through the usage of hand seals. One way ninjutsu is often created is by using nature transformation and shape manipulation, the results of which being techniques such as Rasenshuriken, Chidori, and the Great Fireball Technique.

Genjutsu:

Literally meaning "Illusionary Techniques", Genjutsu is employed the same way ninjutsu is: through chakra and hand seals. However, instead of producing a physical attack, Genjutsu attacks the victim's brain, causing a disturbance in their senses and making their chakra flow irregular. Genjutsu is frequently used to create false images and pain.

Taijutsu:

Literally meaning "Body Techniques", Taijutsu refers to techniques using the natural human body. Taijutsu does not require chakra. These techniques focus on the martial arts and hand to hand combat, and chakra can be used to enhance the effects of taijutsu. Taijutsu is much faster than most ninjutsu and genjutsu.

Abilities

The Sharingan grants the wielder two broad abilities: the "Eye of Insight" and the "Eye of Hypnotism" Although the abilities are not literally restricted to certain eyes, Madara Uchiha noted that the Sharingan can only be used to its full potential when both eyes are together. Even within these two categories, there may exist several distinct though similar abilities:

"Eye of Insight"

1. The user can see chakra, giving it colour in order to distinguish it by its composition and source. Though not as capable in this regard as the Byakugan, it can see chakra through some (but not all) obstructions and detect irregularities in a person's chakra flow, such as those caused by genjutsu influence.


2. The user is granted incredible clarity of perception, enabling them to read lips or mimic something like pencil movements. Sasuke Uchiha's Sharingan was even able to see on a cellular level. In combat, this allows them to see fast-moving objects and, once fully developed, offers some amount of predictive capabilities: they can anticipate an opponent's next move based on the slightest muscle tension in their body and act accordingly to dodge or intercept. They can also read the enemy's hand seals to give them an insight of the performed technique's nature, regardless of the speed of performance, so long as the hands are not physically hidden from view. Although a Sharingan user can see these things, they also need the physical ability to actually act on the visual information. In the anime, it is shown that with advanced enough prowess, via eye contact, the user can even enter the target's mind to look through their memories.


3. The user is able to copy almost any jutsu they see, memorising ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near-perfect accuracy. They can then either perform that jutsu or modify it to suit their needs, as when Sasuke Uchiha bases his Lion Combo on Rock Lee's Front Lotus. Again, Sharingan users need the prerequisite abilities before they can mimic a jutsu they have seen, and for that reason they cannot, for example, reproduce kekkei genkai abilities they do not have or nature transformations they haven't learned to perform.

"Eye of Hypnotism"

1. The user can perform what is generically called Genjutsu: Sharingan. While there are various manifestations and purposes of the ability, the better known one is to, through eye contact, suggest thoughts and actions to a target, coercing them to divulge information or act in a particular way, potentially without the target's awareness.^[26] In extreme cases, the Sharingan user can take complete control of the target's body, forcing them to do exactly as the controller wishes; this control is visually indicated by the Sharingan's design appearing in the target's eye.^[27] The Uchiha are particularly infamous for using this ability on the Nine-Tails, and in fact can enter its or another tailed beasts' jinchūriki's subconscious to more precisely control the beast's chakra.^[28] Multiple targets can be taken control of in this way, though the more divided the user's attention is, the easier it is for targets to escape this control.


2. While not an ability per se, the Sharingan user can appear as if they are able to "see the future". First, the user must perfectly mimic every move their opponent makes and possibly their thoughts and words through careful observation. Then, they suggest an action to the opponent such as hand seals for a technique that the opponent and Sharingan user already know and copy that. With these things done, the user can complete the action even before the opponent does, possibly using the Sharingan's genjutsu to confuse or delay them.

In addition to these abilities there are two other jutsu that a Sharingan user can perform: Izanagi allows the user to warp reality for a short time, changing reality into illusion and illusion into reality, thus escaping death and rewriting destiny. Izanami traps the victim in an infinite loop disregarding the target's five senses, specifically designed as a reprimand for those who would abuse Izanagi. Use of either ability causes the Sharingan with which it is performed to be blinded afterwards, and for that reason the Uchiha classified them as kinjutsu.

Let's first take a look at Sasuke's raw striking strength, from the first half of the Chunin Exams:

In the first two scans of chapters 67 & 68; we see a Sasuke with a kick launch Yoroi into from the floor of the Preliminary Arena nearly all the way up to the ceiling. A few things to note here. One this is post Forest of Death and Orochimaru CM. Sasuke was already heavily injured and fatigued by this point. Compound that with Yoroi's main ability being sapping strength through chakra and you have a very impressive striking feat for Sasuke.

The third scan is from a Chapter 482 flashback of Karin's in the FOD details how she first met Sasuke. Here he casually oneshots a giant bear that is just as large as the trees of the FOD itself.

And finally, the least impressive feat here, but still relevant nonetheless. Sasuke hits Oboro (who at the time was impersonating Naruto) hard enough to easily draw blood and send him flying into a nearby tree. It should also be noted that Sasuke was moving FTE at this point seeing as how his fist is moving as a blur and Oboro couldn't react or see to his blow despite it being a sucker punch.

For now, until you bust out the good stuff for Neji, I will focus on Sasuke's less impressive but still very good early speed feats and will get into the good stuff later. But for now lets look at the Land of Waves Arc:

The first four scans from Chapter 27 detail Sasuke's awakening of his Sharingan. With it he is able to not only read Haku's movements but also react and move fast enough to block all of his attacks while protecting Naruto. The fact that he could do this comfortably places Sasuke above the Supersonic Speed range in terms of reactions and combat.

The last two scans are from Chapter 10 and one of Sasuke's early feats that put him on the map for Naruto fans., back when chunin level opponents were meaningful. Here Sasuke outpaces the Demon Brothers and is able to not only stop them from reaching Sakura and Bridge Builder Tazuna, but also restrain them. Also a nice showing of his ninja tool versatility.

This section will not only focus on pure h2h, but also some ninja tool use to help establish Sasuke's skill.

Weaponry/Creating Openings:

Again I would like to look at Sasuke's exchange with the Demon Brothers in Chapter 10. We see how his overall speed contributes to his skill and vice versa as he has pinpoint accuracy and uses his weaponry to his fullest to restrain the Demon Brothers and create an opening for further attack.

Next lets take a look at chapter 6-7 where we see another display of Sasuke using ninja tools to lay a trap for Kakashi and create an effective opening to start a blitz combo on Kakashi. While it didn't fully connect, it is still impressive because he caught Kakashi a Jonin level opponent and one of the strongest in the series off guard, and forced him to get serious for a moment.

For our third feat, lets look at Sasuke vs Haku from Chapter 24. Here we see after dodging A Thousand Needles of Death (an impressive speed feat in its own right)Sasuke dominates Haku in pure skill and speed, using every tool of surprise and weaponry to create openings and further his advantage over Haku forcing him to resort to his Crystal Ice Mirrors.

Finally lets take a look at Chapter 49, Sasuke vs Orochimaru. Here we see Sasuke set up and land a very nice combo on Orochimaru through use of shuriken, kunai and wire/strings leading into Fire Style. While you may argue that Oro was holding back and testing Sasuke. This is still quite impressive seeing as how he still surprised Oro, caught him off guard and landed a solid hit. Remember at this point Orochimaru was likely the strongest character in the series bar (maybe) Gaara and the 3rd Hokage.

Pure H2H:

Now lets take a look at his battle with Naruto in Chapter 175. Here we see that Sasuke is actually dominating Naruto in H2H despite the dozens of shadow clones he has summoned. Then leading into a Fireball Jutsu to destro the rest of the clones. And btw he did block every hit of the Uzumaki Barrage, and remember the barrage is a modification on Sasuke's Shishi Rendan itself. Also some quick context.

In case of the argument that Sasuke received any amps or significant training since this is post Chunin exams, that would be false. This is Sasuke's first major fight since Itachi and at that time he was still his Chunin Exams version meaning no meaningful stat changes or chakra amps. In fact he wouldn't get his next major powerup until Chapter 209 when he received CMS2. So this right here is still pure Chunin Exams Sasuke.

Here we see Sasuke Fireball Jutsu first in Chapter 175 and Chapter 7. The first displays the power and scope fairly well, as it easily destroys dozens of Naruto's shadow clones, covering the roof, leaving just the original who made another to form the Rasengan. In Chapter 7 we seen the range and power again where it takes Kakashi off-guard again and forces him to dodge underground.

Up next we have the Phoenix Flower Jutsu, most famously used in Chapter 56. What is notable is a clever trick Sasuke like to use is hiding shuriken in the fireballs to increase damage output. Now I realize you may be thinking, "wait he is using his CM and that's not allowed. Yes he is in CM state, but the CM does not give him access to the Jutsu, he previously showed use of it in Chapter 46 and the shuriken is just a extra tactic added on.

Finally we have the Dragon Flame Jutsu as seen in Chapter 49. It is powerful enough to damage Orochimaru and is used in conjunction with wires to trap the opponent. A solid option for Sasuke to use here.

I will save and fully expand on the Sharingan and Chidori for later, as I feel that they will be the most debated of his Jutsu here. But for now I will leave a quick description of the Chidori.

Taken from the Naruto Wiki: The Chidori was created by Kakashi Hatake after he failed to apply his lightning-nature to the Rasengan. He intended for the Chidori to be a weapon used only to protect friends and loved ones. To perform, the user first gathers lightning to their hand; the high concentration of electricity produces a sound reminiscent of many birds chirping, hence the name. The lightning chakra has been shown on occasions to damage the user's hand, peeling the skin and causing it to smoulder slightly, but this does not appear to actually be debilitating. Once the chakra is gathered, users charge at their target and thrust the Chidori into them, piercing them and typically causing fatal damage. Despite the sound it makes, the rapid speed at which it's used makes it useful for assassinations.
