I personally like 1/2 of Fairy Tail. The timeskip is when the writing got better yet worst. So much great set up, and idea only to relied on lazy writing to get out of a situation. The author did not know how to write convincingly on how a character can overcome a greater obstacle with plot induce stupidity. Just ugh.

I personally like 3/4 of SAO. I hated the fairy arc so much, but did like the Aincrad arc. Granted rewatching it, I can see why people might not like it. The trash waifu felt force in, and with so much thing the show could explore, it really did not. I personally think there was lots of great idea and themes, but tgere is definetely some part that might overshadow that for others.

That being say I would 100% defend the second season (minus the filler fairy arc), which manage to be both fun, touching and had lot of great theme that were utilize better compare to season one.

So SAO for me since there less thing to hate. Plus the thing that works, are really good. That being say SAO cause the isekai craze, so actually screw SAO and Log Horizon 2 and Overlord 2 and 3, and the other isekai crap that are not worth mentioning (seriously a god damn PHONE).
