The Disney/Fox Deal is complete.

And now, a theory has stated how the X-Men, Marvel's biggest gain from the deal, could enter the MCU as a result of Avengers: Infinity War's untitled sequel.

The theory says mutants' powers are the result of when a human comes into contact with an Infinity stone. This confirms that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are mutants whose powers were simply activated by an Infinity Stone.

However, Wolverine, Magneto and Charles Xavier could already exist. Magneto was likely a child experimented on by Red Skull using the Tesseract/Space Stone. Wolverine probably was experimented on by Weapon X using that same stone. And Xavier may be harder to explain, but it's possible he just stumbled upon a stone. Maybe his parents worked at Weapon X or something, and he gained powers from coming into contact with the Tesseract.

And then, we get to Avengers 4. This intersects with the theory that all the dusted heroes are trapped in the Soul Stone. And when the Avengers liberate everyone from being trapped in there, half the people who were trapped are now- you guessed it - mutants! This leads to massive hysteria and social change in the MCU, as a quarter of earth now has superhuman powers. As a result, Charles Xavier forms the X-Men, and Magneto forms the Brotherhood. Scarlet Witch becomes a target of hate, as she is obviously the most powerful mutant and caused some damage in Civil War. This leads to her possibly triggering the "House of M" event where she alters reality because she can't handle the real world anymore.

However, Deadpool remains untouched and probably has cameos in future films, as he is allowed to break the fourth wall.

What do you think of this theory? Should Marvel go with this? Leave a comment!

Meh. However they handle it, it's going to seem contrived.

Honestly, I think the X-Men should inhabit their own universe for the time being, but dorks will get mad that Wolverine won't get the chance to talk about Ben & Jerry with Iron Man and Spider-Man so, whatever.

There really isn't a seamless way to integrate the X-Men. Any solution will have it's flaws and detractors.

I guess I'd give this theory a C plus. Wolverine, Magneto and Charles being decades old infinity stone experiments doesn't sit well with me. The stones activating some latent human genetic potential I could kinda live with, as convoluted as it is.

Better than merging timelines/universes.

Eh..After next year, I would prefer they step away from the Infinity gems and anything involving them. It’s been a decade of those things being the center of everything that’s going on in the MCU. I want them to wrap it up and move

I still say they just have it so that mutants have always been there, but that they are a tiny percentage of the population. Just a few thousand globally. The majority of them are split between Genosha and Xavier's school, with the rest scattered around the globe. S.H.I.E.L.D. had encountered them, but hadn't isolated the X-gene so just considered them enhanced/gifted. I don't think it's too much of a stretch.
