@earendill: I'll post what I said in another thread:
@azronger said:
King Wulfharth was capable of moving moons with his Voice. The Greybeards blasted him to ash by speaking, and could also shake the entire planet with the Thu'um. Paarthurnax is more powerful in than all of the Greybeards combined in the Way of the Voice, and he got one-shot by Alduin, whose ass the Dragonborn kicked. The Dragonborn also has comprehended the Elder Scrolls which contain all of space and time.
Miraak then one-shots the Dragonborn with a simple spell and is able to mentally dominate him across dimensions, indicating his mind surpasses concepts like space and time entirely. Miraak was also somewhat relativistic to the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora as indicated by the fact that he was unable to prevent Miraak from escaping from his own realm.
The Dragonborn grows powerful enough to beat Miraak four times in a row and once he kills him he absorbs all of his knowledge and power.

@azronger: "Almost omnipotent" is a logical impossibility. But if you wanna go there, characters like Odin, Darkseid and Spectre were stated as being (nigh)omnipotent. The only one out of those three who doesn't get sh!tstomped by Mxy is Spectre, and most versions of him would lose handily anyways.

Omnipotence can mostly only be disproven by the writer's incompetence and a discrepancy between battle board debater (shit) view on Omnipotence to that of the creator.
You can actually prove at least Scholastic Omnipotence if you let a character manipulate, contain, destroy or create cosmic Infinite Higher Multidimensional of Multiversal forces casually and its aconceptual indifference and superiority to reality's concepts as a whole and having said character be absolutely Omnipotently superior to an infinite hierarchies of infinite multiversal reality warping cosmic beings beings, then yes, that character has Omnipotent feats, if it has 1 being above it, then it's a Near Omnipotent (near Supreme) within its own setting. Omnipotence can technically be proven to a degree, just not completely proven, but allusions to it. You can prove allusions to get a glimpse and an image of Scholastic Omnipotence working. This is fiction after all, anything's possible, including the concepts that cannot be demonstrated by drawing.
Some say, that you can increase infinities of cosmologies endless over and over to create a character with more feats than TOAA, but that's also as illogical as the Omnipotence paradox theory. You cannot believe in something as illogical as higher infinities without believing in True Omnipotence as believable within characters by mere narrative and statement. Omnipotents (whether Paradoxical or Scholastic) can either only be stalemated, nothing beyond that.
The "Hyperbole" card however, is a horrible argument against claimed Omnipotents because the term "Hyperbole" is a buzzword that is also thrown around all the time. It's lazy arguing and is just dismissive.

@earendill: I'll post what I said in another thread:
@azronger said:

What's not normally taken seriously? What is it that takes and "Its" seriously and not seriously? Fan assessment boards arguing about imaginary fictional characters and taking the discussion seriously? Okay.

@earendill: I'll post what I said in another thread:
@azronger said:

Dragonborn is one of the most inconsistent charecters. By lore he seems absurdly powerful and by the actual game he barely has any concrete feats.
Either way, Dragonborn stomps.

@earendill: I'll post what I said in another thread:

King Wulfharth was capable of moving moons with his Voice. The Greybeards blasted him to ash by speaking, and could also shake the entire planet with the Thu'um. Paarthurnax is more powerful in than all of the Greybeards combined in the Way of the Voice, and he got one-shot by Alduin, whose ass the Dragonborn kicked. The Dragonborn also has comprehended the Elder Scrolls which contain all of space and time.

Are we assuming mxy is playing around like he did with Superman?
If so there is a chance dova can get him to say his name backwards.

Dragonborn is one of the most inconsistent charecters. By lore he seems absurdly powerful and by the actual game he barely has any concrete feats.
Either way, Dragonborn stomps.

What's not normally taken seriously? What is it that takes and "Its" seriously and not seriously? Fan assessment boards arguing about imaginary fictional characters and taking the discussion seriously? Okay.
