Before I begin, I would just like you to keep in mind that this is only a thought. I am uncertain about this whole thing but decided just to share it with you anyway.

So, I have recently been thinking about the cause of DC Rebirth and who is behind it. Just about everyone has "figured out" that it is Dr. Manhattan, and for good reason. With the similar powers, mysterious blue aura and the Watchmen now officially coming to DC, it's hard not see how it is almost definitely Dr. Manhattan that has been messing with the DC timeline's and multiverse at large. It seems obvious that old blue balls is DC's new big bad. But I'm now questioning that.

Something about this just feels a bit off to me, which lead me to look deeper into the truth behind this seemingly obvious answer. The trope of super villains having a secret identity, only to be revealed to the audience and superheroes in a dramatic fashion later on has become quite popular these days. I think it began in "The Flash" season one when the true identity of Reverse Flash was revealed. I know that using "The Flash" season one's big reveal seems ironic based on what happened, but just stay with me. Is it possible that DC is pulling the ultimate troll and someone else is behind DC Rebirth?

Now, before you go crazy with your replies and say that I am a moron or some crazy conspiracy theorist, think about it. I have a feeling that DC is leading everyone to believe that it is Dr. Manhattan, only to reveal it being someone else at the last second. Them revealing it to be Dr. Manhattan after everyone figured it out because of how obvious it was doesn't sound like DC to me. I imagine them giving the ultimate shock by revealing it someone that know one even thought of in order to make everyone surprised. Kind of like the big reveal of the soul stone in Avengers: Infinity War.

I don't have any particular character in mind, but I have a theory of what actually happened. An old forgotten threat or power in the DC universe has been making changes to DC from behind the scenes. They possibly did so by stealing some or all of Dr. Manhattan's power and amplified it to the point where it was above multiversal level. I have know idea as to who this character could be, maybe it's Superboy-Prime, maybe it's Monarch, maybe it's Mopee. I have know idea really, but I would be disappointed if it turned out to really be Dr. Manhattan. But what do you think? I am living in denial or am I onto something? Do you have any of your own theories about the being behind DC Rebirth?

Keep in mind, this is just a theory. I am only stating my opinion, so please respect it.
