The director hardly matters now. Gunn already set the tone, and his style isn't hard to replicate. They already have the script as well.

If they will drastically change the tone and script, which I highly doubt they will, they're probs gonna either hire someone who's more low-key such as Spider-Man Homecoming's director. If they do change though, Taika Waititi is probably Marvel's choice, but I do think that Jake Kasdan would do much better in his place, but I'd like neither of these to direct.
If I had to pick, I'd go with either Gore Verbinski (OT Pirates of the Caribbean, Rango) or Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island)

Yeah, I could see either of them being good picks for Vol 3, especially Verbinski since he already worked with Disney on a major franchise.

Dude, you need to take a chill pill. A movie about a Missouri man who hangs out in space with a tree and a raccoon is nothing to get this worked up over.

Dude, you need to take a chill pill. A movie about a Missouri man who hangs out in space with a tree and a raccoon is nothing to get this worked up over.

Yeah, I could see either of them being good picks for Vol 3, especially Verbinski since he already worked with Disney on a major franchise.

Dude, you need to take a chill pill. A movie about a Missouri man who hangs out in space with a tree and a raccoon is nothing to get this worked up over.

@mrmonster: no. we need someone who both loves and understand the cosmic side of marvel, this is neither jake and taika, i swear people who say taika should take over gogt and the cosmic landscape are fanboys and piss me off and they shouldn't have a say on cosmic storylines.

Dude, you need to take a chill pill. A movie about a Missouri man who hangs out in space with a tree and a raccoon is nothing to get this worked up over.
