Spell checker framework - how to change language?

I'm using Google's Spell checker framework for Android.
No matter what I do it always uses an English dictionary.
Locale locale = Locale.forLanguageTag("es");
TextServicesManager tsm = (TextServicesManager) getSystemService(TEXT_SERVICES_MANAGER_SERVICE);
SpellCheckerSession session = tsm.newSpellCheckerSession(null, locale, this, false);
I'm trying to change the dictionary language by setting locale, it does not work.
