With the news from this thread (and the internet) that Dave Bautista may be leaving the MCU due to Gunn's dismissal, the Guardians will have to lose their teammate. However, there's another character who has been established in the MCU and shares similar traits to Drax: Howard the Duck.

First seen in the post-credits scene of the original GotG (and then seen flirting with a woman on Contraxia in GotG Vol. 2), fans have been yearning to see him again in a more serious and substantial role. Howard could very easily replace Drax if he were to leave, he offers a cynical personality and his problems with how his peers perceive him could be quite...beguiling. He also should be a better fighter than Drax, maybe like MCU Daredevil level, because of his knowledge of quack fu. He brings a lot to the table, and because Disney loves ducks, they wouldn't have any problems giving him a larger role.
It'd take a while for fans to adjust to him, but I'm sure he will grow on us all.
So, should he replace Drax? Or should the Guardians go without Howard, even if they lose Drax?

I would be all for seeing him on screen. Just the little clip at the end of GotG made seem a lot interesting than I remember.

If so I hope his personality is more depressed like the Howard of the comics and less Duck Lando. AKA a duck version of Lando Calrissian.
