The Justice League movie was nothing but meh.
And that wasn't just because of the cliched story and questionable SFX, it was because of bad casting. Here's how I would have cast the heroes.
Superman - Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill has been one of the bright spots of the DCEU, so why change?
Batman - Karl Urban

Ben Affleck isn't a BAD Batman, but he isn't the best possible Batman out there. Karl Urban, however, would be perfect for the role. The dude just screams "gritty", which is exactly what Batman needs. Also, I'd rather Batman be about 5-10 years into his career, rather than Affleck's geriatric, Dark Knight Returns-esque "I'm too old for this sh*t" Batman.
Wonder Woman - Adrianne Palicki

And no, I'm not in any way saying that they should have gone with that costume. However, after seeing her performance on Agents of SHIELD as Mockingbird, I feel like she was practically MADE to play Wonder Woman, even though it's probably good her show never aired. Sorry, Gal Gadot fans.
Aquaman - Charlie Hunnam

Momoa was a decent Aquaman, but I feel like Hunnam would do a much better job, as he looks much more like the character and could easily pull off the role.
The Flash - Michael Cera

As much as I love Grant Gustin, there needs to be a big difference between the Arrowverse and DCEU. I feel like Michael Cera would do a great job as The Flash, and convey much more comedy and fun than Ezra Miller did.
Cyborg - John Boyega

He was used as a concept art model for Cyborg - and I wish he were more than that. He'd honestly be perfect for playing Victor Stone, and Ray Fisher's performance was very wooden. Boyega would convey much more emotion.
Additional heroes
These are heroes who weren't in the movie, but who I'd have included in the movie. There honestly were not enough characters, not to mention the team's roster is huge in the comics!
Green Lantern - Armie Hammer

A younger Hal Jordan is, I feel, the way to go. Tom Cruise is a great actor, but I want a rookie Hal Jordan who's still cracking jokes. What this movie needed was some levity, and Armie Hammer is perfect for a young Green Lantern.
Green Lantern - Terry Crews

Crews would make a great Green Lantern, and could easily capture John Stewart's toughness and seriousness, while also showing his capacity for humor like his buddy Hal. A buddy-cop duo in space is what would be in store here.
Shazam - John Krasinski

I mean, Zach Levi is an OK casting choice. However, I feel like John Krasinski would play the character with an over-the-top sense of humor and convey the power that the character has.
Martian Manhunter - Denzel Washington

This is something that, as some of you may know, I've been fancasting for a while. Denzel would be the perfect Martian Manhunter.
Supergirl - Chloe Grace Moretz

I think CGM should absolutely be the DCEU's Supergirl, and it would have been great for her to pop up in Justice League. Perhaps the attack could have been the reason for her coming out of hiding.
Green Arrow - Garrett Hedlund

Green Arrow is more important than you think, and since Arrow will be likely ending, the DCEU should have introduced their own version of the character. As for the actor, just look at the picture above and tell me that doesn't look like Oliver Queen!
So, what do you guys think of this cast? Would it have made the JL movie better or worse? Would you have added or replaced anyone? Comment below!

No offense, but I don't think Michael Cera would be a good Barry Allen. It's the same problem as Ezra Miller where it just turns the Flash into some awkward weirdo when that's not who he is at all.

I disagree. I think Flash should be "awkward", but Ezra was painfully awkward, while Cera would be gracefully awkward, sort of becoming a point of (actual) comedy.

Cera is the only bad cast, The Flash doesn't Need to be the "Comedic" character, no good movie needs one character to be that guy, every character can be funny in there own way.

I agree with other posters re: michael cera. he has charisma but its for comedy, more romcom/teen drama/stoner films. I dont think there's ever been a true-to-comics barry allen live action actor. some anti aryan sentiment in hollywood?? jk, but srsly given the prevalence of blonde hair/blue eyed actors - surely one of them can play barry allen? why always cast brunettes? why thin guys? flash is not superman level buff but he's not plastic man lean either. rick cosnett would have been a perfect barry allen, but instead he gets cast as eddie thawne lol.
gal gadot wasnt great either, she never studied acting and it shows in every movie she's in. to me, anyone who can actually act would be a better choice than gadot.
i like the other casting choices you have, always wondered what karl urban batman would be like, he nailed dredd he can probably do a good batman too. buddy cop between terry crews and armie hammer would be awesome lol.

Lol Palicki is an amazing Mockingbird, but recasting Gal Gadot is the absolute, very last thing the DCEU should do, as she's one of the very few right things in there.
Affleck was also a right choice for Batman, as polarised as this discussion is. He's one of the few things they've done well too.
Can't say I care about anyone else here, including Cavill. He's good, but I've never been particularly impressed by his portrayal of Clark.
Regardless, they should focus more on writing a proper storyline and have a proper film schedule. The actors are just fine, the cast is far from the problem really.

Pre reshots Affleck was fine actually. But the end result? Yeah, something is certainly off. Which is a shame since BvS Bats is the best one to date.

I know some people disagree but afflicts Batman is not worth it. It's not his fault but in JL the guy just wasn't Batman and I honestly don't want to see Ben as bruce anymore. I feel bad for the guy, he gives them another chance and ends up in 2 of the most disappointing comic films of all time. Two films that should of put DC on the map

Pre reshots Affleck was fine actually. But the end result? Yeah, something is certainly off. Which is a shame since BvS Bats is the best one to date.

Anything but that (and I'm not even a Gal' fan).
John Boyega.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember any memorable role of his. Overall indifferent.
Supergirl.

Wonder Woman - Adrianne Palicki.
Anything but that (and I'm not even a Gal' fan).
John Boyega.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember any memorable role of his. Overall indifferent.
Supergirl.
Don't want her in DCEU.

I disagree. I think Flash should be "awkward", but Ezra was painfully awkward, while Cera would be gracefully awkward, sort of becoming a point of (actual) comedy.
Why do you think that?

Your Flash, Supergirl, and Jon Stewart choices are laughably bad.

Not that Cera and Crews aren’t great, but they don’t embody Barry Allen or John Stewart in the slightest

Wonder Woman - Adrianne Palicki.
Anything but that (and I'm not even a Gal' fan).
John Boyega.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember any memorable role of his. Overall indifferent.
Supergirl.
Don't want her in DCEU.

Why do you think that?

Your Flash, Supergirl, and Jon Stewart choices are laughably bad.

Wonder Woman - Adrianne Palicki.
Anything but that (and I'm not even a Gal' fan).
John Boyega.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember any memorable role of his. Overall indifferent.
Supergirl.
Don't want her in DCEU.

Wonder Woman - Adrianne Palicki.
Anything but that (and I'm not even a Gal' fan).
John Boyega.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember any memorable role of his. Overall indifferent.
Supergirl.
Don't want her in DCEU.
