Seeing the posts about most powerful character in HST (Holy Shonen Trilogy), I thought I could make one for the most popular series in general. Disclaimer: obviously I have not watched or even know about every single shonen anime, so my pick of the series would be slightly biased. So if you know any character from any series that you think should be on the list, please put it up with some evidence to support it, and I will be more than willing to put it here if I see any credibility or consensus.

Also, I've omitted Dragon Ball because there are too many characters that is on a whole other league and they deserve a list of their own. Also, the series must have some sort of focus on action and combat, or else including them into the basket would be quite pointless.
