I don't know why but I thought this match would be a fun well rounded match up. Both seem that they have a way to go before they reach their full potential and both have powerful genes.

By feats, Gon would punch Konohamaru into next week. The shinobi needs more impressive showings. I'm sure there's a scaling argument for him somehow.

there ain't, chunins could fight physically against Joinins or even higher, look at Shikamaru vs Hidan and kakuzu, examples of it are everyone in the series, taijjutsu unless the ninja is a specialist are rather similar across the board after a certain rank.

scaling only works for ninjutsu, Raikage/tsunade> madara/hashirama in taijutsu unless they use sage mode, same way Itachi Genjutsu > is higher than much stronger ninjas than him.
