@diarrhearegatta: I can't find any gifs or clips unfortunately, movie is a bit too new.

He's like DCEU Zod level. In his battle with 7723, they were smacking each other through skyscrapers and flying into orbit. 7723 also shot him with a high powered plasma cannon, which caused a city block sized shock-wave and burst of light; but only a couple nearby buildings were actually destroyed by it. It put him out of commission, but his body was still mostly in tact (Note, he also crash-landed at re-entry level speeds, directly after getting shot by said cannon).

His armor can block 7723's plasma sword, which was slicing metal like butter.

He also has an army of fodder, but the fodder were pretty pathetic; even Mai Su was able to smash them, despite being only being like 12-13 at most. That said, they do have self-destruct settings, so that could probably be pretty bothersome for some of the normal human Avengers crew.

Ares was basically running the major robotics company of the setting and controlling all of it's tech, so I'd imagine he'd be pretty hack proof, otherwise the company would be at a pretty massive liability.

@mylittlefascist: In that case, I don't know if they could take him out. Maybe Vision could do something if he's actually smart for once, but this seems way too durable for the Avengers to defeat.

If it's modern Avengers I think they can take this. If it's the AoU version of the team there's a good chance they'll get overwhelmed.

Well, I don't think there are any hard on-screen feats to prove he can't be hacked; but just looking at the type of character he is, I doubt it would work.

What about current Avengers?

The second one was suggested to have been no big deal for Tony, so it most definitely could be used in a fight against someone with no feats against hacking.

That's not how it works. We have no reason to assume he did anything other than conventional hacking for that, which is not something that can be done in combat.

Huh? I don't see why Tony can't hack it in combat similar to how he did in the first video I shown. His he can have Jarvis do the hacking while he focuses on fighting.

@thewatcherking: We've only seen it work on simple devices though. For example, we have never seen him take over Vanko's drones, despite using that device earlier in that same movie.

Ares is an advanced AI build by a completely different company, which has already shown capable of taking over that entire company's tech; with the exception of 7723 who was built separately/in-secret for the express purpose of taking out Ares.

@thewatcherking: The first one he just hijacked the video feed with a device, while the second one isn't really a combat feat.

Well, I don't think there are any hard on-screen feats to prove he can't be hacked; but just looking at the type of character he is, I doubt it would work.

@thewatcherking: The first one he just hijacked the video feed with a device, while the second one isn't really a combat feat.

@thewatcherking: Note, that Ares is an advanced AI from a setting where even disposable instant noodle cups are robots.

So no? If we assume that it wouldn't work then the avengers from AoU may lose.

Well, I don't think there are any hard on-screen feats to prove he can't be hacked; but just looking at the type of character he is, I doubt it would work.

What about current Avengers?

@thewatcherking: The first one he just hijacked the video feed with a device, while the second one isn't really a combat feat.
