Nick Fury has been in the MCU since the first Iron Man movie.

And he just appeared in Infinity War, in a post-credits scene where he and Maria Hill turned to dust because of Thanos' snap. But before he died, he sent out a distress signal to Captain Marvel.

Now, there's a theory that states Fury knew what was going to happen.

See, when the snap happens, Fury doesn't look surprised. He looks like he was expecting it. Like he knew it was going to happen. That would actually explain a lot. The theory states that Fury has talked to the Ancient One, who if you don't know was the powerful sorceress that mentored Doctor Strange, about 20 years ago. She foretold the future, that one day a cataclysmic event would hurt the earth, and Fury would need to build an army of heroes to eventually stop them, and only to call Captain Marvel when that happened. So, Fury begins building his army with the Avengers Initiative. He starts out with Iron Man, and later forms Stark and the others into a team. Maybe, I may add, he even knew where to find Captain America's frozen body. That would officially make Nick Fury responsible for superheroes.

What do you think of this theory? Comment!

Sure why not? The two questions I have are:

1. Why did Fury talk to Avatar Aang in the first place ?

2. Why not have some sorcerers already reserved for the Avengers roster pre-Iron Man?

The forthcoming Captain Marvel film takes place in the 90s. If Fury gathered any knowledge about alleged future alien incursions he probably learned about it from hanging out with Carol.

Falls apart with the Ancient One. Also, Fury had no way of knowing if Captain Marvel would have died in the snap. It was a last ditch effort.

Why would he be told to wait to call Carol? This is why I'm having a huge issue with the way Captain Marvel is being handled, aside from her character just being bad, there's probably no good reason for her not being around till now.
