Issue #1 features "The Conversion" from writer Tim Seeley and artists Rick Leonardi and Brian Buccellato, as Ares attempts to recruit Diana. Issue #2 will feature Seeley working with artists Felipe Watanabe and Chris Sotomayor for "Mother's day," as Diana returns to Paradise Island only to find her fellow Amazons kidnapped by Echidna. I'm almost upset at that. If the stories are good or give Diana powerful feats we could have added them to her respect thread. I'm probably still getting it, just cause I don't have the Nu52 JL origin issues and I want to see how these 3 stories play out.

Quite frankly I wouldn't worry, these aren't books stuffed with new material, it's mostly going to be reprints with a few new stories here and there. The idea is a business-based one where DC gets to reach a larger audience that's ultimately supposed to lure people to pick up the monthly books.

@masterwitcher88: I’m kind of intrigued to see if Tom King’s got a better handle on Wonder Woman but Walmart doesn’t exist here so hopefully it’ll be available online. Conner and Palmiotti’s story should be lots of fun, Seeley’s on the other hand, didn’t spark my interest

I know. Kind of sucks that the JL story that these "new" readers will get will be the Nu52 one with the terrible "I love to fight and nothing else" Wonder Woman. My hope will be that they make comicvine accounts and speak to the fans or look up actual good stories with a properly well written Diana themselves.

I was reading the Superman forums and it sounds like the stories are not in line with the main stories, but still canon. I guess if the writer says otherwise though. Still I'll look out for them and if something changes then I'll and them to her respect thread. Its been sorely lacking as usual. Speaking of; I need to find a better cutting tool, I know my scans aren't that clean and hard to read at least for me.

I was never a fan of that. It weakens Diana's feminist roots by preventing her from being with her sisters. Personally I wanted a massive 6 issue story event like Throne of Atlantis or War of the Gods, where Diana tries to return home in the process Ares is freed and sets his sight on Olympus and his family for locking him up.

I still want her to have storys like War of the Gods though.

Think it's more likely they will venture into the comicbook stores and ask the people there.

If they are canon, we can be pretty sure it will only be small side adventures ala the Sensation Comics digital book.

Is there any word on if this will be available for digital release? I don't like to buy physical books anymore.

Also I hope its not cannon. I don't want her to set foot on Paradise island again.

It was a sacrifice she made. It was the price for leaving paradise. It lessens its significance and renders it pointless if she can just return home whenever she wants.

Hmm. I wouldn't say it weakens her feminist roots. I think her feminist roots are in her upbringing with all the amazons around her and how it shaped her character into the hero we admire.

I still want her to have storys like War of the Gods though.

DC Comics has announced a new partnership with Walmart, one that will see DC publish a series of monthly "Giant" comics to be sold exclusively in Walmart retailers. These oversized anthology books will feature a variety of new stories and reprints focused on iconic characters like Batman, Superman and the Justice League.

Among the new stories included in these comics is the first Batman project from newly DC-exclusive writer Brian Michael Bendis. Other stories include a Superman tale from writer Tom King and artist Andy Kubert and a Wonder Woman story from Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti.

Justice League of America Giant #1

No Caption Provided

"The original stories in this series will be Wonder Woman-centric. Issue #3 begins a 12-part story from Conner and Palmiotti called "Come Back to Me," which features Diana traveling to a strange, time-displaced island to rescue Steve Trevor."

Diana's first time returning to Themyscira since her exile will be in a comic EXCLUSIVELY sold from Walmart. You'd think this would be something told, you know, in her own book.

If they are canon, we can be pretty sure it will only be small side adventures ala the Sensation Comics digital book.

Is there any word on if this will be available for digital release? I don't like to buy physical books anymore.

Also I hope its not cannon. I don't want her to set foot on Paradise island again.

"The original stories in this series will be Wonder Woman-centric. Issue #3 begins a 12-part story from Conner and Palmiotti called "Come Back to Me," which features Diana traveling to a strange, time-displaced island to rescue Steve Trevor."

LOL!! I just realized.

"Issue #2 will feature Seeley working with artists Felipe Watanabe and Chris Sotomayor for "Mother's day," as Diana returns to Paradise Island only to find her fellow Amazons kidnapped by Echidna."

Diana's first time returning to Themyscira since her exile will be in a comic EXCLUSIVELY sold from Walmart. You'd think this would be something told, you know, in her own book.

Think it's more likely they will venture into the comicbook stores and ask the people there.

If they are canon, we can be pretty sure it will only be small side adventures ala the Sensation Comics digital book.

I'm almost upset at that. If the stories are good or give Diana powerful feats we could have added them to her respect thread. I'm probably still getting it, just cause I don't have the Nu52 JL origin issues and I want to see how these 3 stories play out.

Hmm. I wouldn't say it weakens her feminist roots. I think her feminist roots are in her upbringing with all the amazons around her and how it shaped her character into the hero we admire.

I still want her to have storys like War of the Gods though.
