In the world of Harry Potter, there are four different houses within the school of Hogwarts that are used to categorize the students. The houses are separated based on a list of characters traits that they value more than any other. While students can fit into multiple houses, the decision is based off of their core traits. Here are the houses and the traits that they stand for:
Gryffindor - This house values the traits of courage, bravery, nerve and chivalry. Gryffindors are almost always seen as being heroes within the wizarding world. This is because of the fact that students who come out of this house often have a type of need to go on adventures and take on different tasks when confronted by them. But for all their good traits, they are also very well known for having the tendency to be arrogant, shot-tempered and emotionally impulsive.
Hufflepuff - This house values hard work, patience, justice and loyalty. Hufflepuffs are usually seen as being kind and overall pleasant to be around. They are the most compassionate and forgiving of all of the houses. But they are also often seen as having less talented students due to their acceptance of practically anyone into their house. Despite this fact, many of the most remarkable characters in Harry Potter have come from the house of Hufflepuff.
Ravenclaw - This house values intelligence, creativity, learning and wit. Members of this house are typically the brightest students in all of Hogwarts. Ravenclaws are seen as being academics by their peers as well as their teachers. Mostly due to the fact that they consistently get better grades than the students in the opposing houses. There is also the fact that they tend to dive intensely into their studies, which can lead to isolating themselves from others.
Slytherin - This houses values ambition, cunning, leadership and resourcefulness. While the house is not inherently evil, it as considered to be such by many. A great number of villains have come from this house and use their traits in many ill-intentioned ways. Slytherins have been known to go to extreme lengths in order to achieve their goals. This often results in others getting hurt in their various pursuits. This is reinforced by the fact that they have an advanced sense of self-preservation.
I would say that Matthew is a Ravenclaw more than anything else. He is well educated and intelligent. He spends a large amount of his time studying, enhancing his knowledge and perfecting his craft. What house is/are your character(s) in?

Helena could be in any house tbh, but since intelligence, wit, and learning is such a big part of her character, I'll have to say Ravenclaw.

@mister_surreal: Grimmwald, Satar, Ezra Strix, Ishin, Amin Karrit and Grandmaster Yin would all be sorted into Slytherin, while Santiago/Espada and Fraga would be sorted into Ravenclaw. Prime Impero and Andres Knightfall would have to be sorted into a combination of both Slytherin and Ravenclaw, though Prime Impero is more Slytherin than Ravenclaw while Andres is more Ravenclaw than Slytherin.

Glost is a proud muggle, but if he weren't, he'd be in Slytherin. He has clear goals and takes whatever steps necessary to meet them.
Mitchell Herrick would be in Ravenclaw, and has taken innumerable online quizzes that back up that assertion. He loves learning, and, if not for his childhood friend Donovan dragging him into the HFF, he may have become a very well respected researcher in the field of robotics, a lifelong interest and occasional hobby.
Leo Herric would be in Griffindor. He is a brave and fearless follower of his cause, and his loyalty to the HFF is absolute.
Grant Diaz is simply another Slytherin. He is cunning and always out for his own self interests. The only reason he and Glost get along is because of the premium Donovan places on his services, and the obscene amounts of cash he's willing to part with in order to secure their exclusivity.
