I doubt Rodrik was of a high enough calibre to still pose a significant threat in his post-prime years, as Selmy could. Even if Rodrik was to be the superior swordsman (which is quite probable), Theon could just wear him down and take glancing blows as Bronn did against Vardis Egen.
