The Uchiha Clan (Naruto) 32%

The Yato Tribe (Gintama) 14%

The Saiyajin Race (Dragon Ball) 36%

The Kurta Clan (HxH) 14%

The Mink Tribe (One Piece) 5%

I'm talking in the sense of story and plot, not in strength or ability (let's be honest, that would be a massive mismatch in favor of the Saiyajins). I'd go with the Yato personally, but I could see a case being made for any of them.

Not too familiar with Gintama or HXH's so I can't really speak on them. However as far as the other three I have a few thoughts on them.

Uchiha:

The Uchihas, are a great and powerful clan, that are intrinsically tied to the history of the Naruto Universe and have been major players from past to present. Along with the Senju's the story behind the Warring States period is one of the most speculated eras of the Naruto canon. It is not unlike the period of Robert's Rebellion in GOT. While we may have gotten everything we need in terms of telling the basics of the story, I feel as though if we followed a character in that time, hell it could be Madara we would a vastly expanded universe and lore that could shed light on the birth of clans, destruction of clans, how certain characters came to be, etc.

Unfortunately on the flip side, the Uchiha at least imo, suffer from a favoritism problem in the present of the series. It isn't necessarily a goo thing that aside from Shisui, just about every Uchiha spends a significant amount of time as an antagonist. They also feel very overpowered, and at times it seems like they are only reason the the plot moves along in the series sometimes often overshadowing characters who may need a chance to shine in the spotlight. A shining example and one of the best arcs in the series: The Akatsuki Suppression Arc with Team 10 vs Hidan and Kakuzu is a prime example of this.

Saiyans:

Arguably the most straightforward of the clans/tribes here. Saiyans are at times the best and worst of their series. By best I mean they provide us with epic moments and edge of our seat thrills such as the first SS transformations of each form. Or how they serve to expand the series as a whole, The first two arcs of Dragon Ball Z being a testament to that. The bad part of that is, Saiyans end up making every other character who is not a Saiyan feel useless. By the time of the Android/Cell Saga is you aren't a Super Saiyan, you're on the sidelines and that isn't a good thing. In that vein, they suffer from the same problems as the Uchiha by stealing much needed shine from other races and characters, along with making every powerup, every Saiyan's birthright. The first four in-series Super Saiyans all achieved the legendary form through adverse conditions and great trauma. Now we have either being born with it (Goten and Trunks) or having a tingly feeling in the back(Universe 6 Saiyans).

Minks:

The tribe/race we have spent the least amount of time with, but boy has their impact been huge. The Minks are largely responsible for putting the current One Piece mythos and goal back on its original course. Their first major arc in the series was a breath of fresh air after three at least 50-60+ arcs on their own before that. Along with that we got great reveals, a full SH Crew for the first time since Punk Hazard (minus Sanji) and like I said, a return to the overall goal of the story, finding the One Piece. Along with that we have great new character additions in Nekomamushi, Inurashi, Carrot, and Pedro that enhance the story their in and the characters that they are around. The only thing that I have a critique of is that they feel a bit too subservient to the the nation and people of Wanokuni, along with not having enough time with them just yet.

However if I had to pick one, I would say that out of the ones I am familiar with, The Minks are objectively the best tribe followed by the Uchiha, then the Saiyans but the difference between the latter two is minuscule to me.

Yeah, they're essentially the Uchiha or Saiyajins of their universe. In addition to having a few unique quirks (like being weak to natural sunlight, causing them to always carry umbrellas that they have since weaponized), they all have better individual personalities compared to the two others I compared them too.

Poll: Which tribe/clan is the best? (22 votes)

The Uchiha Clan (Naruto) 32%

The Yato Tribe (Gintama) 14%

The Saiyajin Race (Dragon Ball) 36%

The Kurta Clan (HxH) 14%

The Mink Tribe (One Piece) 5%

I'm talking in the sense of story and plot, not in strength or ability (let's be honest, that would be a massive mismatch in favor of the Saiyajins). I'd go with the Yato personally, but I could see a case being made for any of them.

Minks have an interesting mythos that's just being explored and I really like their addition to the story and relevance since they gave Luffy invaluable info about One Piece

Uchihas are a bunch of edgy, emo, emotional edgelords who I can't stand

but yeah i can't stand itachi and sasuke. unreasonably powerful, and way too beloved by the author. the same can be somewhat true of the saiyans as well, but they cover it up in manliness and explosions.

I'd say it has story quality on par with One Piece, as well as action on par with Dragon Ball/Naruto (not on the same scale, but just as good in my opinion). Plus, it's absolutely hilarious.

but yeah i can't stand itachi and sasuke. unreasonably powerful, and way too beloved by the author. the same can be somewhat true of the saiyans as well, but they cover it up in manliness and explosions.

I'd say it has story quality on par with One Piece, as well as action on par with Dragon Ball/Naruto (not on the same scale, but just as good in my opinion). Plus, it's absolutely hilarious.

I just love the idea that you can basically always continue to get stronger and stronger and always exceed your limits no matter what if you keep training and working hard.

Absolutely great answer, my friend. If you ever get a chance to read through Gintama (it's really good), the Yato are all actually pretty great characters.

@valor_175: I definitely plan to start soon, probably over this winter break when classes are finished. I've heard some great things about and if you recommend it I know it has to be quality.

I'd say it has story quality on par with One Piece, as well as action on par with Dragon Ball/Naruto (not on the same scale, but just as good in my opinion). Plus, it's absolutely hilarious.

@valorknight: They're the perfect warrior race. They're bodies have literally evolved for the sake of combat; Zenkai boosts, staying in their prime longer, etc...

I just love the idea that you can basically always continue to get stronger and stronger and always exceed your limits no matter what if you keep training and working hard.

Loading Video...

It's EXACTLY like Master Roshi says right here, "Because if you're on the top, there's nothing left to shoot for".

People S*** on DB because it kept going and kept introducing newer and newer villains.... but what people seem to forget is that this is literally the theme of the series. It's that old saying or whatever. There's always a bigger mountain or something like that. There's always going to be a bigger obstacle in life and that's why I love the Saiyans. At least Goku and Vegeta mainly. Because they've trained for they're entire lives and have gotten beat down time after time to get where they are. I mean look at Goku... when he started off sure he was strong, but now he's being compared to Superman. Regardless of anyone's own thoughts on that match up it's still the truth.

Uchihas are a bunch of edgy, emo, emotional edgelords who I can't stand

i like the regular uchihas like fugaku since he seemed to be stern and proud but also desperate and politically revolutionary. and when he realised he lost he was like "...well i tried. bye bye guys".

but yeah i can't stand itachi and sasuke. unreasonably powerful, and way too beloved by the author. the same can be somewhat true of the saiyans as well, but they cover it up in manliness and explosions.

Not too familiar with Gintama or HXH's so I can't really speak on them. However as far as the other three I have a few thoughts on them.

I'd say it has story quality on par with One Piece, as well as action on par with Dragon Ball/Naruto. Plus, it's absolutely hilarious.

Damn, that sold me. definitely picking it up.

Yeah, they're essentially the Uchiha or Saiyajins of their universe. In addition to having a few unique quirks (like being weak to natural sunlight, causing them to always carry umbrellas that they have since weaponized), they all have better individual personalities compared to the two others I compared them too.
