I think a good buddy cop movie could be a more experienced and loose Hal Jordan, training an inexperienced and uptight John Stewart

Hal should have a bit more of a comedic side

@betcelebs: Although I believe Alex O'Loughlin would do an awesome job, I think Channing Tatum could do justice to the character. Another option would be Ben Browder, of Farscape and Stargate SG-1 fame; but he might fall short because of his height. Although if they're seriously considering Tom Cruise for the part I guess height is not something they're concerned with, to begin with. Tom Welling could be awesome as Hal Jordan, and it'd give him a reprieve from being associated with Supes. But he'd have to lose some bulk.
