Anakin. I'm so glad we had legends and the clone Wars to give us an accurate representation of his evolution as a character and his flaws.

Luke is cool but he's kind of... Basic, nothing wrong with that but I feel when you compare him to such a layers character like his father, it's no contest. Atleast imho

Luke takes the cake easily! Going by the movies...

If were including The Clone Wars (and I guess Rebels) then... sigh... Anakin. His character is just so fleshed out in TCW

Anakin. Luke didn't really have much of a character if you think about it. Anakin had problems and continued on with more as time went on and had to make decisions. You want to see how a character responds to the world around them, not just go with it.

Going solely off the movies not Extended Canon

Theoretically, Anakin is the more interesting one with a fall from grace being rooted in love and hypocrisy. But in execution Luke was the better character with a tried and true tale of resisting temptation of the dark side to the point of not Slaying Vader for a very innocent reason.

Their stories are the result of going left or right after having their resolves ultimately tested. If Episodes 2 and 3 weren't written like complete garbage Anakin would win.

But... here we are.

Luke is too basic.
