Is document.write taking a string containing encodeURIComponent(document.URL) vulnerable to xss
Is the following susceptible to a XSS attack, especially in older browsers:
<script type='text/javascript'>
document.write('<script src="' + 'someurl.com' + '&url=' + encodeURIComponent(document.URL) +'" type="text/javascript">' + '</script>');
</script>
I have read that when calling encodeURIComponent certain browsers don't entirely encode every character, take for example firefoxes implementation:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/encodeURIComponent
var set2 = "-_.!~*'()"; // Unescaped Characters
console.log(encodeURI(set2)); // -_.!~*'()
Is it possible to exploit this snippet of code especially with older browsers? especially considering this might be on every page.
