I read about Event Capturing and Event Bubbling and learned that browsers supports both. Let's suppose after page rendered e.g. stackoverflow.com

I attach click event listener to body.

 var el = document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0];
el.addEventListener('click', function(e)
alert('Heyyyyy');
e.stopPropagation()
, true);

Notice i have provided true so as to enforce capture instead of bubbling. Why inspite of stop propafation being called i'm able to navigate through links like Tags,Users,Jobs etc.

However if i change it to:

var el = document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0];
el.addEventListener('click', function(e)
alert('Heyyyyy');
e.stopPropagation();
e.preventDefault();
, true);

The code works fine.
