Ever been a fan of a media production about making media productions? Such as a television show about people making a television show. A movie about people making a movie. A book about people working in the writing industry.
It's one of my favorite genre forms nowadays. I really enjoy watching stuff like "Shirobako", an anime about people making anime (Animators and voice actors/actresses really have it rough) and "Hail, Caesar", the Coen Brothers' movie about Eddie Mannix, a film executive producer, struggling to keep the issues within the film industry under control such as dealing with communist screenwriters (Remember it was the 1920s) and enthusiastic actors who can barely act.

I can't think of one I've enjoyed. Sunset Boulevard and In A Lonely Place are some of my favorite films but those are movies about artists as people, rather than artists doing art. I've heard great things about Stardust Memories, though.

I love The Disaster artist (especially the audio book) and My lesbian experience with loniness. I love seeing behind the scene production.

I can't think of one I've enjoyed. Sunset Boulevard and In A Lonely Place are some of my favorite films but those are movies about artists as people, rather than artists doing art. I've heard great things about Stardust Memories, though.
