So, I've recently been reading Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez' Locke & Key saga lately ( One of the best horror fantasy comic books I've read in years. You should all check it out.) and the main setting of the series, known as the Keyhouse Manor, has always been fascinating setting for me.

You see, The Keyhouse Manor was built near a cave that was a portal that leads to dimension full of demons. However, one of the place's original settlers from several centuries ago created keys out of metals he found in the location long ago, made to control and hide said portal. Those keys would give the people who lived in that house special abilities, such as the ability to manipulate shadow constructs, send your consciousness back in time, turn into a ghost, change your gender, see and remove a person's thoughts and memories etc.

The con of living in this house would be the fact that there was already a demon stuck inside the manor, who may want to trick you into opening said portal so other demons could crawl into this reality by any means possible.
