Is there a way to generate a SSL certificate for tomcat for free?
Hello Problem Solvers,
Ok, I wish to secure my REST API with an SSL certificate. And for IIS there is a tool called LetsEncrypt to generate SSL certificates for free.
I searched a lot but I could not find anything like that for tomcat on windows. If anybody knows a tool or process to generate SSL certificate for cheap or for free that'd be awesome.
Thanks - Fahad

Try this:
Otherwise you could use IIS as reverse proxy to your tomcat installation:

You can easily generate a self signed certificate for free.
all the instructions can be found on:

The end of the article says buy your SSL certificate from verisign.com. I don't want to pay for it.

If you need the certificate for the “production”, you should buy a signed certificate though i have seen many applications uses self-signed even on production. regardless, for testing and development purposes you can use the generated self-signed one described in the article.
