FirebaseRef must be an instance of Firebase at new Geofire

0

i am using geofire in my ionic to save longitude and latitude of users in a tracking app. However when i try to save and update user location i get this error;

FirebaseRef must be an instance of Firebase at new Geofire

import AngularFireDatabase from
'angularfire2/database';

import * as GeoFire from "geofire";

import * as Firebase from "firebase";

Here is my constructor

 constructor(public http: HttpClient, public afs: AngularFireDatabase,
public pickuprequest: PickuprequestProvider
)
this.dbLocationRef = this.afs.list('driversAvailable/' + this.driverId);
this.geoFire = new GeoFire(this.dbLocationRef.$ref);

My updating driver location function

 updateDriverLocation(key, latitude, longitude)

this.geoFire.set(key, [latitude, longitude])
.then(_ => console.log('location updated'))
.catch(err => console.log(err))

What do i need to do? I did this

 this.dbLocationRef = new Firebase(this.afs.list('driversAvailable/' + this.driverId));

and i get

cannot use new with expression whose type lacks call or construct signature.

Any help will be appreciated.
