Battle of the Week Results!

2 Weeks ago we had a battle of the week between Shazam and Hercules. As you can see Shazam took a comfortable majority in the votes but lets take a look at some the best arguments that week

Arguments of the Week

I'd say Hercules. He has better quantifiable feats of his own that don't rely on scaling to other characters and Billy doesn't really use his speed consistently in combat, which would be his biggest advantage in this fight. They're comparable in raw physicals but Herc is a superior fighter and he has his Adamatine Mace, which has been portrayed as Mjolnir's equal in striking power. After a tough fight, I think Herc comes out on top.

I will actually side with Herc here. The battle prowess is highly in his favor, and he has feats of reacting to speedy enemies. So, he is not very likely to be utterly blitzed by Shazam. I don't think Shazam's energy projection will truly bother Herc as he has great durability feats, and, with his mace, he has the striking feats that can potentially put Billy down with one hit.

Captain Marvel takes this. The only argument I can see in favour of Hercules is that he is physically stronger (even though Captain Marvel is near to Superman in terms of strength) and I do think Captain Marvel does not blitz that much in characters like Superman, Supergirl or Flash. But he is still having the speed edge and can use it defensively and for bullrushes. He does have the speed advantage no matter how much you want to belittle it. He is also having good durability tanked hits from Superman, Wonder Woman. He also has good striking able to hurt and hold his own against Superman arguably better than even Wonder Woman. He should get the majority.

Basically this match comes down to whether Billy is too fast and tough for Hercules or whether Hercules' brute strength is more than Billy can handle. When it comes to tanking damage, Billy has taken hits from a morals off Superman, Lobo, Martian Manhunter and Black Adam. So he really shouldn't be incapable of taking Hercules' blows. Herc probably is stronger in lifting and striking strength but Billy can use lightning attacks to amplify his damage output. And Herc can be harmed by such attacks as his fight with Thor in Blood Oath demonstrated. Ultimately it would be a bloody brawl of attrition for both combatants but Billy's durability should outweigh Herc's in giving him the majority.

2 Weeks ago we had a battle of the week between Shazam and Hercules. As you can see Shazam took a comfortable majority in the votes but lets take a look at some the best arguments that week

I'd say Hercules. He has better quantifiable feats of his own that don't rely on scaling to other characters and Billy doesn't really use his speed consistently in combat, which would be his biggest advantage in this fight. They're comparable in raw physicals but Herc is a superior fighter and he has his Adamatine Mace, which has been portrayed as Mjolnir's equal in striking power. After a tough fight, I think Herc comes out on top.

Battle of the Week Results!

2 Weeks ago we had a battle of the week between Shazam and Hercules. As you can see Shazam took a comfortable majority in the votes but lets take a look at some the best arguments that week

Arguments of the Week

I'd say Hercules. He has better quantifiable feats of his own that don't rely on scaling to other characters and Billy doesn't really use his speed consistently in combat, which would be his biggest advantage in this fight. They're comparable in raw physicals but Herc is a superior fighter and he has his Adamatine Mace, which has been portrayed as Mjolnir's equal in striking power. After a tough fight, I think Herc comes out on top.

I will actually side with Herc here. The battle prowess is highly in his favor, and he has feats of reacting to speedy enemies. So, he is not very likely to be utterly blitzed by Shazam. I don't think Shazam's energy projection will truly bother Herc as he has great durability feats, and, with his mace, he has the striking feats that can potentially put Billy down with one hit.

Captain Marvel takes this. The only argument I can see in favour of Hercules is that he is physically stronger (even though Captain Marvel is near to Superman in terms of strength) and I do think Captain Marvel does not blitz that much in characters like Superman, Supergirl or Flash. But he is still having the speed edge and can use it defensively and for bullrushes. He does have the speed advantage no matter how much you want to belittle it. He is also having good durability tanked hits from Superman, Wonder Woman. He also has good striking able to hurt and hold his own against Superman arguably better than even Wonder Woman. He should get the majority.

And Herc can be harmed by such attacks as his fight with Thor in Blood Oath demonstrated. Ultimately it would be a bloody brawl of attrition for both combatants but Billy's durability should outweigh Herc's in giving him the majority.
