When in many situations when someone finds out about an identity they never do tell and it doesn't change much? (Arrow, Flash, Spiderman homecoming, Iron Man etc)

One thing one more day gave us was a realistic take on a costumed crime fighter and how he and his family would be affected.

@stormshadow_x: That's because when writers decide to handle that type of plot it (At least from what I've seen in the big two in recent memory) they've fumbled it.

Remember Superman: Truth? The story had so much potential but they screwed up Superman's characterization so bad that it made reading it a chore. I mean having Superman leave Metropolis and tell Lois and Jimmy to get lost was... jarring to say the least

Now I haven't read Grayson so I'm not sure how Nightwing's unmasking was handled

Have you read any Spider-Man or Daredevil comics? Look what happens to their peers when a villain (or the world) discovers their secret identity.

it depends. it's not like a lot of the super heroes do a lot to try to hide their identity anyway. nightwing, green lantern, and some of them barely even wear a mask. superman and the many versions of supergirl don't wear anything. anyway ironman doesn't have a secret identity and he does ok. it all depends on the plot. it also builds tension and drama. if people knew the characters identity then that would eliminate half of the stories that are written.

It matters and releastically speaking the writers don't do much with it.

"If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no perceptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then even the deepest spy cannot discern it nor the wise make plans against it." -- Sun Tzu, "The Art of War"

In short giving your opponents information about yourself is stupid.

Have you read any Spider-Man or Daredevil comics? Look what happens to their peers when a villain (or the world) discovers their secret identity.

Marvel don't have that. The majotiry of their characters don't have secret identity, barring maybe Daredevil and Spider Man. It's just a DC thing currently.

it depends. it's not like a lot of the super heroes do a lot to try to hide their identity anyway. nightwing, green lantern, and some of them barely even wear a mask. superman and the many versions of supergirl don't wear anything. anyway ironman doesn't have a secret identity and he does ok. it all depends on the plot. it also builds tension and drama. if people knew the characters identity then that would eliminate half of the stories that are written.
