This is tough. With aquamans TP I think he could pull it off I suppose.

Aquaman uses his telepathy to get dolphins to tail slap the heck out of animal man.

Has he ever been able to use the abilities of some sort of animal that is TP resistant? Haha. If he can it would be a tough fight.

Animal Man, Pre-Reboot, I believe.

Aquaman has an advantage of strength, endurance and his ability to coerce fish and sea creatures into doing his bidding, but Buddy can take on attributes of Animals, and use them to his advantage, attacking venerable parts of Aquaman. Plus his mimicking animals means that he could mimic something harder than Aquaman, or quicker, or able to regenerate faster, or something.

Really, really tough one though. I think, in all honesty, it could go either way.

Pre-Flashpoint, Buddy takes it. During the 52 it was shown he could tap into any animal in the universe and he is shown tapping into a Sun Eater to return to earth.

Pre-52, Aquaman wins. Post-FP, Aquaman wins. However, post-52 and pre-FP Buddy is going to win.

I think I'll go with Animal-Man here honestly, but close regardless.

This is a toss up for me either way tbh.

Pre-52 Aquaman has Telepathy, but Pre-52 Animal Man has powers of a Sun Eater - could go either way, though I'd favor Aquaman.

New 52 Aquaman is way more powerful, but Pre-52 Animal Man is similar to Swamp Thing in that he can't die (he can jump to other animals and regen his body). But I'm pretty sure his physical showings are lacking (compared to Aquaman anyway), outside of the one issue where he fights Seeder. So again, could go either way but Animal-Man is gonna have longevity on his side.
