Quickly wrote an editorial about why Deadpool 2 deserves some praise for not having a traditional villain in a modern CBM. You can read it here: http://comicbookconvos.blogspot.com/2018/08/deadpool-2-deserves-more-credit-for-its.html

I agree with most of your points. I especially agree that Deadpool 2's main mission (not fighting a villain, but stopping a villain from being formed) was very unique.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I believe Deadpool 2 is a masterpiece on the same level as Logan. IMO, it's a darn-near perfect movie.

Reading your points, I do agree that Deadpool 2 isn't your traditional superhero film, since almost all superhero films features the near-universal theme of a good guy trying to overcome a bad guy.

However, I don't see why its has any potentially negative aspect in that Deadpool 2 lacks a main villain. There are critically-acclaimed (Non-superhero) films that do not feature a main villain, so any criticism that "Ewww Deadpool 2 sucks for not having a main villain" is in my opinion a stupid argument.

I do think that Deadpool 2 film is actually better than the first Deadpool.
