MMPR Trini Kwan Respect Thread (Comics) [Unfinished]
By TheVivas
August 30, 2018 1 Comments
This will be my Respect Thread for Trini Kwan, the original Yellow Ranger. This will cover her appearances from the 2016 and so on comics, which is basically a reboot of the series. Much of the backstoryis the same between the comic and TV show, with Trini being the other "smarts" of the group along with Billy, but the series takes a different route after Tommy joins the team.
This thread will be divided into the following categories:
- Equipment
- Skill
- Intelligence
- Speed/Agility
- Strength
- Durability
Equipment
Helmet
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) While sparring with Jason and learning the limits to their powers and abilities, Trini and Jason are seen standing at the bottom of the shallow water of the ocean, showing they can breath underwater:
Blade Blaster
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #06) A weapon that can be used normally as a blaster and then after folding out a blade, can be used as a melee weapon. Trini brought this out to battle the Black Dragon:
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #10) Trini uses her Blade Blaster to shoot at a vine monster:
Power Daggers
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #10) Trini's Power Daggers cut through the arms of a monster:
Communicator
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #10) Trini's communicator was upgraded by Billy to allow her to communicate with the other Rangers wherever they are and allow them to teleport wherever they want instead of just to and from the command center:
Teleporter
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #18) Trini, like the other Rangers, can use her communicator to teleport to different places. here's Trini and the other Rangers teleporting to a village in the Carathian Mountains:
Skill
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) Trini has studied martial arts before in her lifetime but after she morphs, she knows moves before she does them. Jason agrees by saying that Billy, who has no fighting prowess, turns into a lethal weapon after morphing. This suggests that being a Ranger and morphing gives you innate fighting ability, on top of what you already know and can do:
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #14) Trini helps fend off a bunch of Goldar clones with the rest of the Rangers. These clones were noted as being "improved on" from the original Goldar because they didn't have his mental shortcomings but still retained all of the original's physical skill:
Intelligence
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #02) Trini helps Billy try to figure out why Tommy's Dragonzord went haywire, and Billy basically tells her that she's the only other Ranger smart enough to figure it out:
Speed/Agility
(Justice League - Power Rangers Issue #01) This isn't a feat but a statement and it's from the crossover of Power Rangers and the Justice League so its Canonicity is subject to debate, but going off of the other Rangers' feats, the assessment from Batman that they are all enhanced individuals with increased speed, strength, and durability when morphed is accurate:
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) In a Canon statement, Jason tells Trini that he feels faster when he morphs:
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) While testing out the limits of their powers, Trini and Jason race against each other, causing the dirt and wind to fly up behind them as they appear as blurs to the background:
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #10) Trini pushes Zack out of the way of an arrow:
Strength
(Justice League - Power Rangers Issue #01) This isn't a feat but a statement and it's from the crossover of Power Rangers and the Justice League so its Canonicity is subject to debate, but going off of the other Rangers' feats, the assessment from Batman that they are all enhanced individuals with increased speed, strength, and durability when morphed is accurate:
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) In a Canon statement, Jason tells Trini that he feels stronger when he morphs:
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) Trini lifts and holds a large boulder over her head:
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Annual 2017) Trini jumps up onto Goldar's chin after Rita had enlarged him to Megazord height:
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Annual 2017) Trini manages to push over a large boulder onto GOldar:
Durability
(Justice League - Power Rangers Issue #01) This isn't a feat but a statement and it's from the crossover of Power Rangers and the Justice League so its Canonicity is subject to debate, but going off of the other Rangers' feats, the assessment from Batman that they are all enhanced individuals with increased speed, strength, and durability when morphed is accurate:
(Go Go Power Rangers Issue #02) Trini jumps off a large cliff and although it doesn't show her landing, it's obvious she had to and that she did so without any injury:
(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #04) Trini and the other Rangers survive an explosion that nearly destroyed the entire Command Center and the large hill it was located in:
