I’m sure Kubrick is great, but I can’t say I really love any of his films. I much prefer Hitchcock.

Hitchcock is my personal favorite of all time. Sometimes, especially later in his career, Kubrick could be a bit artsy and purposely vague. I can name a dozen Hitchcock movies I'd be up to watching any day of the week. His movies have better replay value for me.

Neither. Tarkovsky, Kurosawa and maybe Ozu are plain better. As far as American/British directors go, I'll pick Orson Welles, whose films were plain more fun and at least as deep as these two. But I'll take "2001: A Space Odyssey", "Barry Lyndon" and "Paths of Glory" over any Hitchcock film, except possibly "Vertigo" and "North By Northwest".

Both are brilliant, but I personally think Kubrick is just a tiny bit more interesting.

I’m sure Kubrick is great, but I can’t say I really love any of his films. I much prefer Hitchcock.

Steven Spielberg is the GOAT, but out of those two, probably Kubrick.
