I understand people hate Naruto vs dbz matchups but just know this is NOT who would win in a fight. My question is who do you think is the strongest in the sense of Willpower? Who do you see backing down first if both are facing an adversary whose strength they have absolutely no chance of stopping to try and protect the people they hold closest to them and why?

Goku wouldn't back down against a stronger enemy period until he was killed. Don't get me wrong, he has a sense of self preservation like when he retreated from Kid Buu's attack that destroyed Earth but he actually doesn't go out of his way a lot of the time to make sure everyone else is okay too. When he's really serious or enraged, he tells his friends/family to leave (whether that means just leave the battlefield or even LEAVE THE PLANET).

Goku's will power makes him unlock new levels, beat a mortal even a god of destruction cannot beat, be scared of Chichi but think nothing of Zeno, eat a billion calories and gain no weight blah blah bloody blah! He wins.

Goku's whole power is based off of will power. this dude rarely trains anymore. he just screams and forces himself to get stronger instantly, based on wanting it more.

Naruto has more will than Jiraiya who willed his heart to restart therefore Naruto stomps.

Goku will Litterally fight to the death or near death just to gain a new power up.

I can see why people say goku but naruto literally always says he never gives up or back down so it’s either a tie (which is most likely) or goku gets strong enough to actually win his fight

Goku's entire shtick is his obsessive need to combat more powerful adversaries. It's less of a testament to his willpower and more so because he's fucking crazy.

OT: Both are about equal, slight edge to Goku since Naruto occasionally needs a pep talk

I say Goku's will power is stronger he's constantly pushing his body past it's limits to improve his strength and power like training at 300 times earth's gravity even though it was extremely difficult training he persevered and got stronger.

Funny you use that because Goku did the same thing after Daimao beat and left him for dead the first time. Daimao checked him for a pulse before leaving, found none, but later it restarted.
