Format GET Request with header for authentication with passport
I'm trying to create an email verification link corresponding to a GET request to an authenticated route with passport.
Natually, all these routes, controlled with auth.required
, need a header with authentication information, namely the user's ID and a token.
How do I manually form such a link, given that, in my scenario, i need the user to only click on the link, so it needs to be in URL format.
for context, this is how the authneticated routes are routed:
router.use(user_routes.authenticated, auth.required, authenticated)
and the auth
code :
const jwt = require('express-jwt');
//TODO : DOCUMENT AND SYNTAX
const getTokenFromHeaders = (req) =>
const headers: authorization = req;
if(authorization && authorization.split(' ')[0] === 'Token')
return authorization.split(' ')[1];
return null;
;
const auth =
required: jwt(
secret: 'secret',
userProperty: 'payload',
getToken: getTokenFromHeaders,
),
optional: jwt(
secret: 'secret',
userProperty: 'payload',
getToken: getTokenFromHeaders,
credentialsRequired: false,
),
;
module.exports = auth;
