Gil horrifically stomps. He could probably solo the cyborgs and the rest of the SDS characters at once.

What do they do?

@kingcrimson: mind giving me a rundown what gil can do?

@red_ruby_petal: Sure, give me a few mins and I'll get a hold of some feats.

@red_ruby_petal: Gil is a diamond ranked holy knight, which is basically the highest class possible behind being a chief holy knight. His magical power revolves heavily around lightning, which he can use for offence, defence or mobility:

• 1-2: Uses a lightning bolt to trap and immobilise Diane and Meliodas.


• 3: Uses lightning to amp his strikes


• 4-5: Calls down a huge lightning bolt


• 6: Cloaks himself in lightning armour

Speed wise, he can use his lightning magic to travel around as a bolt of lightning which he does mid-battle to get the drop on Meliodas several times. He also kept up strike for strike with a sealed Meliodas, who in turn has feats of reacting to lightning on multiple occasions:

Strength wise, he has a few pretty cool feats. Matching Meliodas blow for blow who was able to split a small mountain/large hill in half with a twig being one.

He also threw a spear over seven miles with enough force to drag Meliodas through the town of Vanya and destroy a few buildings, and by statements would of destroyed the whole town if Meli hadn't of caught it. Watch until 1:09 and then skip until 2:26 - the in-between is unrelated dialogue between Meli and Elizabeth:

And here's one from his fight against Meliodas, where he strikes Meliodas through several buildings with a strike whilst holding back according to Arthur. The feat is at 2:49, but if you watch the whole fight you'll get an idea of his abilities:

@kingcrimson: Why did some people say Vergil is above this guy? That makes no sense at all.

@red_ruby_petal: People tend to rate DMC characters a little higher than they should, IMO.

@kingcrimson: Dante is understandable honestly, Vergil on the other hand shouldn't be seen on this paygrade.

Anyways hard to say whether lightning in their verse is as fast as actual lightning in the real world. Hard to say for sure. I think that was generally accepted in CV not to take lightning feats seriously though it seems like this is a legit case.

I will however put this in. Explosions should be moving at mach 23

yet, Raiden made them slow moving and was swinging like 10-20 times faster than its expansion.

And the trajectories of his blade extends across the whole screen, reaching up to the helicopter right there.

So they are far from getting blitzed whether you take that lightning speed seriously or not.

Honestly I can see them dodging gil's attacks and going in for the kill. Since its 2 that should make it a little easier.

@red_ruby_petal: I think you could definitely make a case for older Dante being on that level, but younger Dante gets creamed IMO.

You only really get those speeds in explosions from solids like C4, Semtex or TNT. For most gases, explosions tend to be closer to the Mach 5-10 mark.

@kingcrimson: vehicles like helicopters contain explosives themselves in the missiles and the such.

You can tell based on this that they do have missiles. The stuff inside vehicles may have more too.

The one on my 2nd GIF was the helicopter crashing onto the ground which caused that sizable explosion which is bigger and much faster than the rest and even that was slow moving.

Also they mention the reason everything Raiden kills explodes is because its a precaution so that any data won't be left behind. The explosives were intentional and most likely not through gas.

The mach 5-10 explosion was probably this and compare that explosion to the explosion on my other GIF. This time this one was near freezing.

And this is where I got my GIF, when the helicopter actually crashes onto the ground.

So they were definitely the ones moving at mach 23 in my earlier GIF or even faster. Mach 5-10 is the absolute slowest those tiny other explosions can be.

That's a good point. I've never looked into the detonation velocity of a missile before, so I don't know where on the scale that would fall.

Older Dante is a totally different ballpark and tier as compared to younger Dante, and Dante junior beat Vergil :/. I guess coming from DMC is the reason Vergil is often seen as pretty high when he shouldn't be.

I agree Dante's power increases exponentially over the course of DMC 1, the anime and DMC 4 respectively, but his feats just don't seem to match up with where he should logically be placed on the scale, if you know what I mean?

Did they ever explicitly say because Dante's sword was crafted by Sparda, it couldn't be cut by Yamato? Moreover it has been stopped by a rocket launcher. True one-shot weapons should not display physical limits even with fatigue so honestly dimension cutting could only be seen as an extra ability.

Dante's abilities in face value don't seem to make him any higher than mid tier if that is what you are trying to say. I think its just the nature of his abilities. For example he can be argued as massively hypersonic and with quicksilver he just straight up freezes time. Or how he has Yamato which can be said to cut through anything and trickster style, etc they all work so he can beat people who are seen above his paygrade.

@red_ruby_petal: It’s never been explicitly stated, but IMO it would make sense. Yeah, the Kalina Ann thing is the anti-feat people always point out. It’s hinted that it’s down to Vergil being worn out, and I suppose you could say that Kalina Ann has no feats of being cut by anything less lol. I’ve always viewed the dimension cutting as a separate ability though.

Yeah, thats exactly what I’m talking about. Stat wise, he isn’t anywhere above a regular mid tier IMO. He has a few dubious lightning timing feats and that one awesome strength feat against the Savior. He pretty much never uses his hax in character as far as we know, which usually works against him.
