The Justice Alliance of America rose to prominence during the Great Depression as a symbol of hope in a dark world. A team known as Friends Fighting Together symbolized unity during a time when the nation was in pieces. Their involvement during World War II was noted as their heroism saved the lives of soldiers time and time again. To the public, this was considered to be the Golden Age of Heroes.

Little did they know that in reality the Golden Age was in fact a gilded one. The heroes they looked up to for hope, the Super Friends the children had so admired was in reality a facade. The Justice Alliance saved many people on various missions as stated in the history books, this was true, but that is known history. There is much the public does not know. This is Secret History.

1943

The Nazis have been attempting to create their perfect super in order to combat the Justice Alliance and attempt to turn the tide in the war. They have been unsuccessful in creating the perfect super soldier but there have been rumors that they are close to achieving it, and that is the covert mission assigned to a squad of 5 members of the Justice Alliance. The mission: infiltrate, gather intel and eliminate any possible threat.

@killer_instinct: When I post next, is it okay with you that I have Apex detect who Emil is under that disguise since she has enhanced senses and would be able to detect the scent of fake flesh and his true scent under that? I won't have Apex comment on it or blow his cover, she wants to see how long it'll take before the others catch on, much like Emil. ^_^

Just for safety, Emil can disguise practically anything of his that isn't an essential bodily function such as blood flow. He can chemically slow his heartbeat to near-death levels, allowing him to 'feign' being dead, but that's usually in conjunction with a wound. As a result it's not for very long, but it's a very convincing performance.

@killer_instinct: Which is why I am thinking Apex respects and understands Emil's work more than anyone on the team because she's good at the disguises too (but not_nearly as good as Emil). Simply by observing how he disguises himself, she's learning a lot from him. ^_^

@killer_instinct: Does Emil like to smoke a certain kind of cigar all the time or does he switch brands all the time in order to be as random as he can with his disguises?

As far as the cigar question, yes. He keeps an extensive mental list of how he relates different objects to different personas. For instance, Emil as a person only smokes light cigarettes casually. The fact that his current "security officer" disguise is smoking big cigars one after another is all part of the act. He does this for drinks, movies, animals, restaurants, clothing, cars, anything and everything he comes up with has something different about them in order to make his own core personality virtually untraceable.
