I'll give it to Starlord. If he is aware that something is hunting him, he will most likely notice the cloak. You know like how Hutch and Mac saw it. Not only that, but if I am not mistaken Starlord's helmet has thermal vision. He is also experienced at fighting aliens and held his own pretty well against MCU Iron Man....
