John McCain was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer about this time one year ago; it has been reported that the condition has worsened and McCain has decided to discontinue treatment as of today. So, lets all extend our thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to McCain in this trying time for him, his family, friends, and colleagues. McCain to discontinue medical treatment for brain cancer

McCain died last night. I was never really political but based on some stories I've been reading recently on him, he seemed like he was a decent man. RIP.

John McCain was a real American hero, and he will surely be missed.

A true patriot and hero. May he RIP.

Ah McCain, you've done it again.....

I felt sort of relieved to just discover that John McCain was a Christian, even though he avoided saying it publicly; specifically, his concern about being ready for God's judgment of him: How McCain's faith sustained him and allowed him to forgive himself

But, when it comes to civil rights legislation and the Republican party since the 1960s, plus the federal courts, I can't help but think of the following Scripture:

Matthew 25:31–46:

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
